Best video of its kind on RUclips, THANK YOU RUST BELT AUTO. I went to Rock Auto, got the Arnott conversion kit, followed your details to a T, and got the job done !
Excellent video. Thank you so much for giving me the confidence to do this on my wife’s ‘08 MDX. Her shocks had been shot for a while, but I was holding off because the cost to replace with OEM active suspension was going to run over four grand. Car is in great shape, but was cost prohibitive. Got the Arnott conversion kit for $1000 and did the install myself. Took me about 6 hours, but everything works great. Ride quality much improved and the bypass module works like a charm. ADS light came off once installed. Very good work around if you have the ADS system in your older MDX
@@PhongNguyen-le9tk My module came with the Arnott struts. I don't think Arnott sells the module separately though, as they need to make some money selling the package together to pas for the development of the bypass module. I'm very happy with the results after six months.
greetings!! I bought the same pack of shock absorbers with the module that you describe. My question is if I disconnect the other connectors from the other 3 shock absorbers that do have connectors on the shock absorbers and only install one of the spare parts you mention (shock absorbers) and connect the module does it work the same way? Let me explain about the original shock absorbers that have the cable integrated into the original shock absorbers. I only want to install a spare, it will be enough for me to just disconnect the connected cables, eliminating the 4 cables in total and connect the module so that the warning on the dashboard disappears? Can you help me? XFAVOR your video was very helpful both to track the replacements (shock absorbers and for their next installation... greetings from Tijuana Mexico
Hello, I didn't buy the Arnott kit, but the Suncore kit, and it came with Resistors, I have no idea on how to install or where to install the resistors, I contacted Suncore and they unfortunately don't have a How to, instructions.
Basically you'll need to solder terminal tips into wires connected on the resistor, and then connect those tips onto the connector of the harness that was connected with the oem strut.
You my friend !!!!! You are awesome. I'd like to buy you a case of beer for this. Liked and subscribed on all my RUclips accounts. As well as dropping your link on every acura forum I ever come across.
Great video. I did the electronics delete myself, mainly because I wanted to seal the connector on the rear like you did. I took it to the mechanic for the strut install and he called me saying that front strut doesn’t fit. I went in to look for myself and there isn’t enough room for the top knuckle bolt to go in. He called Arnott three times and the third person said to grind down the back of the knuckle until it fits!?! They said that some of their kits were built that way, but didn’t offer to send a replacement. Have you run into this?
Just got mine and i have the same issue. Not enough room for the top knuckle and Arnott doesnt give a ef about it. Did you have any issue when doing alignment? After grinding the back of ur steering knuckle?
I was following your instructions but was not able to get the same result. My car is the ACURA MDX 2008. The ADS lights still appears on the dashboard. Can you help me out with this?
Good afternoon, greetings from Tijuana, Mexico, congratulations for such a good tutorial. I have a question! .. I have only one damaged shock absorber and I can't find the original one anywhere to install a conventional shock absorber, but the failure flash persists on my vehicle's instrument panel, the question is, can I purchase only the module that you install in the part trunk lid? And if I get it where can I buy it? Once I buy it, is it necessary to disconnect all the rods from the remaining shock absorbers? I hope you can help me in this matter thank you very much
On one setting the button blinked, the other setting the light on the button stayed on, but the fault on the instrument cluster stays off. The victim that owns the car says it rides really nice. Don't know if it's a placebo or not. Personally, I can barely ever tell a difference from a regular suspension vs. that electronic fluid stuff. It's not a road race out there, or a race car anyways.
I'm sure you can. After doing so many hundreds of struts on different vehicles, It only takes a few to come apart to the point where you need to remove the shaft, take it apart, and put the bearings back onto the cup. That's why I do it. Most of the time, they go right back in when they do pop out, and most of the time they don't come out at all.
@@RustBeltAuto I worked on my Acura TL which looks similar. I'm about to buy a 2007 MDX elite so I'm just getting prepared for eventually doing the struts? I'll probably go with kyb and recycling some parts and just soldering resistors at the wires. It will most probably cut the cost in half compared to Arnott. Either way thanks for the video. Keeping my options open.
Yeah you can take it out. But dusan zec you’ve never felt the pressure when the axle comes apart and 10 customers are standing behind you waiting to bring the car in.
What I mean is you do your shock work, and if the axle nut is not taken off the stress of the knuckle without the shock support will yank out the trunions
@@RustBeltAuto thanks got it, so pricey. I'm thinking to replace to standard strut and then cutting inside the old ADS struts for the electronic. Just a up in the air.

Nice work on fixing that Acura. Got to love Rock Auto for hard to find parts that aren’t available OEM anymore.
Wow this is an amazing video. I can’t do this myself but I sure as hell am going to have my mechanic watch it before he does it! Thanks!
Really good explanation my brother really helpful ❤
Just did mine now very helpful video...kit works very well. Thank you

I don't think so.
thank you ill buy it
What would happen if I only changed one damper that I bought and disconnected only the other connectors, and installed the module?
You tell me. Please do tell.
Do the sell the connectors seperate??
I dont think so.
Hello has anyone had these on for over 1 year? Trying find some feed back on these arnotts. Might be doing mine soon. Thanks in advance

Hello there, can you show me how to disconnect ADS Connect please
Do you plug the blue plugs back into the module?
I did not.
Did the shock work fine?would you recommend them? Does comfort &sport button work?

Pretty sure the dampening system in the rear will not work.
It has to be possible to take the shock out without taking the drive shaft out?
