  • As part of a James Bond influencer event, Pete was invited to Jermyn Street, London, to hear of how Turnbull & Asser got involved with the James Bond franchise.
Retail manager of Turnbull & Asser in Jermyn Street James Cook indulged us with some great stories and showed us the exact spot where Sean Connery got measured by the then designer Michael Fish.
He also spoke of how Daniel Craig needed extra fittings on the set of Casino Royale as he grew to big for the shirts he was originally measured for.
Matt conducted an interview with James Cook from 2012 which you can find in the link below.
Special thanks to James Cook from Turnbull & Asser and David Zaritsky from The Bond Experience for making this happen.

Thanks Joe! It was so cool to get the picture by the spot where Michael Fish measured Sean Connery. Sorry I didn't manage to get many shots of you on the day. Pb

Nobody in the world fits and measures clothes like the fine Gentlemen on Jermyn Street. Napoli in Italy comes close, but the history, class and British know how is second to none. A great video.

It’s a Turnball shirt, Brioni is brand of the jacket Craig wears.

Thanks David, so its 4am your time? That's just out and out nuts sir. I loved the way James said he was watching you on INSTA, but you won't know it's him. That's quite Bondian in itself. I really enjoyed this leg of the journey, thanks making the magic happen.Pb

I wonder , what is best cotton for a shirt .
I prefer a heavier cotton . But smart traditional and classic

Hey Ste, I'm not really into heavy cotton for shirts. I have become seduced by the feel of sea island cotton of late. I asked Matt Spaiser and he said - 'For a Heavy Cotton formal shirt I recommend herringbone. Oxford is good for a sport shirt'.
Outside of our go to shirt makers T&A, Frank Foster, I can also recommend more entry level RTW shirt makers Hawkins & Shepherd and Shirt Society. Both offer (subscription service)
