I hate live service games bcuz once the microtransactions purchases stops, the developers will drop the game immediately and servers will be shut down

Your not wrong but now days that what most games are heck a good game can die because of a bad lunch time even if it not a live service cough cough titan fall 2, it had a good fan base but because the game sold poorly because of the time they lunch it! It won't get a 3

The double edged sword with COD Is there’s plenty of free content and rewards but it’s usually not permanent
Love the vid. You made a lot of clear and concise thoughts that made a lot of sense. One thing you didn't mention, that would have driven your point, is the buffing and nerfing of weapons. Buying a $19.99, 2400CP, or 3600CP bundle just to have the weapon buffed is down right robbery. Or offering a feature like JAK attachments, and then nerfing a weapon to the point where it feels like a water-gun (Renetti).
I no longer play Madden or NASCAR because of monetization. Stopped playing APEX because of those super expensive reddish purple items.
Stop playing Forza online because you had to buy a pack in order to be competitive.
Point is, you're right, at $70 a game, 25, 30, 40 dollar "micro" transactions are becoming ridiculous, especially now considering you HAVE to buy em in order to be competitive online. Gaming is lame now.

They’re not even micro anymore they’re macro transactions at this point aint nothing micro about them.. ive had enough of games nowadays i dont even play them anymore, used to play call of duty every single night for about 4-5 hours a night after work to wind down but not anymore because its just such a slog to even enjoy gaming in its current landscape anymore. Such a sad sight to see where gaming has come over the years makes me yearn for the old golden days. 😒
Well in the old cods if you wanted more than 1 zombies map you had to pay 60 dollars wanted more mp maps oh that's right pay 60 dollars more at least now I don't have to buy the skins and I can play the MP maps a d Zombies maps for free

False Narrative exposed. You also got every major weapon release, the best skins, and camos & titles. I'll take an even playing field over 142 variants of the same damned weapon over four games.

The next step in the evolution of games is direct product placement. Ghost will chug down a Modello after shooting someone because he has “the mark of a fighter.” This has been tried before in games and recieved backlas, but it will come back, and just like the micro transactions the player will be forced to go along. Every game will have these and the next generation of player will not know a game without predatory advertising. It will become the norm as micro transactions have. You won’t know different so how would know there is a better, older, way things have been done.

I had the free version of warzone and during the season 3 ftp multiplayer weekend I leveled up guns with no real enjoyment... Most matches I joined were half over and sweaty as hell so I swapped to zombies. From the start of season 3 all the way till the end all my recommended friends said they enjoy multiplayer too so I should add them. I would never pay for a 70 dollar dlc filled with cheaters, sweats, and micro transactions. I wouldn't even play warzone if there was a damn Teletubby on my team.
Great video! COD got me good when I first realized that season pass was not a one time purchase. I stopped playing COD for a very long time, back when you purchased DLC. I believed the season pass was the same as DLC, lol, wrong!!!
The skin and battlepass are way better than the old season passes and DLC model cod fans don't even realise it

My opinion
1. Helldivers 2 had a solid formula on live service , sadly, many other issues were happening and it hurt player base.
2. I'm just going off COD here.
A. I feel if i paid for the game( standard) I should receive the standard battle pass every season no cost. Not just the few free bullshit items in.
B. If they cant do that , we as players should be able to earn COD " TOKENS" through game play. If this is the way okay. So when i do hit 50 headshots not only do i get so and so, but also receive a certain amount of COD tokens which would give players a chance at very least to be able to get standard battle pass.
3. Most " events " a good amount of player base just don't want to deal with it. Yes, some are unique as far as rewards at times, but modes are willlllll just trash. Just does feel as special.

You do earn cod points. I never bought them but noticed that I had them then purchased the battle pass with those and have been earning since. Not sure about the full games, but this was with Warzone.

What I'm saying is ability to actually get tokens throughout game play in game.
I've been sitting on 400 for 2-3 months. Hasn't moved and this last weekend I got back on for awhile.
Now yes, if buy battle pass you get and you can save to get another and so on if you choose to do so, but still no in game way in MP to do so unless possible event might have for reward.
I'm using Helldivers 2 as you can earn the tokens in game you cam find them. COD can do similar for player base.
Also, the way you get 1 as BP levels up. I'm in more of a line of rewards for different things as you

I have experienced this but do to living in rural Alberta I just always assume connection issues are on my end good to know I’m not alone I’ll look into it

Eomm is the gaming industri’s devil. There is no competivness, no fun, nothing game related anymore. Its all rigged, rigged rigged rigged. The more you play, the Worse ur result will be(unless you buy bundles). The more effective you train, the quicker you will be nerfed. People that dont know what eomm is should try this to learn:
1. Dont buy bundle’s
2. Go train vs ai bots, increase health to 150-200, then run around, jump and slide and quickscope and throw knives in enemy faces until you have 99% headshot accuracity. Then Watch what starts to happen.

Regarding COD, I think what Activision needs to do is completely separate their games. They won't, but their games and monetization strategies might make a little more sense if they get rid of HQ, and make each game - Warzone, Modern Wafare 1 2 and 3, and Black Ops - their own separate games. If they want to keep the battle pass in their mulitplayer modes, include 1100 COD points when you pay for the game. This way, players won't feel robbed when they pay for the game, only to be pressured to spend more on the Battle Pass once they load in. They need to then get rid of the store all together in the paid versions of the game. Keep that in Warzone where it makes the most sense.

Fomo has a part of live service decline believe it or not people dont like been forced to play a game just because they have to grind for a skin that will be on the game for a week or so
Agreed 100 percent it’s the main thing that pisses me off and I see it in my kids when they get upset that their friends get a skin in Fortnite and they are like I have to get it today or it won’t ever be back

The thing is with call of duty id rather have the item shop than paid DLC cause at the end of the day the DLC costed at least 60$ tp get all 4 packs and ruined the playerbase and battlepasses are purely optional purchases

I stopped playing Apex Legends, now I've been playing gacha games & I've enjoyed every moment of it. F2P Guardian Tales, Honaki Starrail, Wuthering Waves & Snowbreak.
I've put around $700 bucks & 2k hours into Apex Legends for the past 5 years.
Damn I should try these gacha games I actually been hearing a lot about them

But tbh I personally am not a fan just because these games aggressively try to foster that fomo feeling while the gameplay is pretty mundane and isn't really evolved much past gathering 100s of different materials, pressing one button to repeatedly engage flashy combos that do no damage and occasionally dodging while the game reminds you "oh well you're character could wipe this boss if only you had a stronger character" so you get tempted to roll the dice for a 5 star or higher character to fit into your team of characters so you don't have to keep button mashing for 20 minutes you button mash for 10 minutes. Wowee. It's like a slot machine with anime characters in the template of a game that tries to evoke gameplay elements derivative of a premium title that might have existed years prior.

My problem with live servers mostly depending on the game like the finals is a live server but it fun and easy to play and has a decent pass but even that game has issues
A few places in your video you mentioned the "devs"... they do not have control over the model that is being used... all that comes from the executive level.. to be fair
I also in the same video mention Destiny 2 where the Devs stood up against greedy practices by the very publisher of Call of Duty that of course being Activision. To long do we pretend that grown adults can not formulate a thought about the very item they are creating when we have an example of Developers standing up against Activision and leaving their unbrella. So to be fair it’s complacency from the devs that faults them and why they are brought up.

They make the most money because of the predatory practices. I always come from the point of how I feel and what my comment section is saying. Secondary you can find the bias for whatever view you want, wether to agree or disagree with my point of view and that is ok but with every game being a live service game now what are we comparing to? Cod makes more money then halo and Fortnite more then both of them but all of them make more money then battlefield? I would look more at how a game is received as the basis for what does better Elden Ring is beloved by the gaming community for the polish and the non predatory monetization model, cod is relativity poorly received for the exact opposite reason the lack of polish and the overly predatory monetization model. Just because they make more money does not mean they are good games or well received, cod charges 50 dollars for a skin and idiots buy it because they pray on these players
