- He was SHOT DEAD for sitting in another man's seat.
On the 25th of June 2023, retired Army Vet Michael Tenorio & his wife attended the Cinemark Century Rio movie theater in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The couple wanted a quiet Sunday date night & decided Jennifer Lawrence's new movie 'No Hard Feelings' was what they wanted to watch, however when they arrived they were told there were only single seats available on their row.
Michael & his wife proceeded to sit in taken seats, an argument broke out, what happened next will shock many.

It's so crazy that there's people out there, where their first reaction to things is to start shooting, it's so sad.
We need to get back to the psychology that life has value. He probably worked hard to get where he was, had goals and dreams. Probably has family and friends. Unless you are religious we have to recognize what he destroyed and stop treating it as everyday living and statistics.

Yeah I agree unless she’s under 18 and if she did instigate the fight she should be held accountable somewhat. Some accessory to a crime like assault or something. I’m sure her name is out there somewhere but for the court to hide it intentionally I wonder if she worked with the prosecution and that was their deal.

She needs to be investigated. If it turns out she did instigate the whole thing she needs the same charges. Not sure if assaulting the wife during it counts for that too.

I've seen criminals think/act like they're a victim before, but never to this extent. Being a cop is incredibly hard, running into any situation not knowing who the bad guy is and who the good guy is and this is a perfect example, the first person you come across with a gunshot wound might not be the victim.

I was there that day. My friend and I went to see The Little Mermaid, and halfway through the movie, all the lights in the theater turned on. An employee walked to the front and told us “Do not panic, but there is an active shooter in the building. Please make your way to the nearest exit.” When I used to hear about these situations on the news, I would tell myself, Nah, I would rush the shooter or be the hero but my heart dropped into my stomach, and my mind immediately turned off, and the only thought was I had to survive. We both got up and started to briskly walk out, almost running and when we got outside, there seemed to be 50 to 100 cop cars, all with their lights flashing and cops with their guns drawn. It was relieving to figure out it was just a dumb situation but I didn’t figure that out till later. It was a scary experience, but I got a refund for the movie.

People who just take people's seats without asking is frustrating but the theater staff should of removed them from the seat, telling them just to take someone's seat is pretty irresponsible of the staff, don't have seating and tickets for specific seats if you are going to tell people to not follow them

It's stupid, but I can see how one would be annoyed about the seating situation. Obvious pulling out a gun is psychotic, but the seating situation is what caused this whole debacle.
@@robert5697 Oh yeah, the cinema should be clearer to avoid future arguments, but they were a ticking time bomb. If it wasn't over a seating disagreement it would have been over another minor inconvenience.
I was going to comment something like this but you know how people are but if I’m not mistaken in the narration he told them that they could ASK if they could move down so they could sit by each other and they didn’t ask they just told them the usher said it was ok. Which isn’t true if I’m hearing correctly so this could’ve been something easily prevented.

This comment section is crazy. So many people blaming the seating situation rather than the asshole who killed a dude because they shuffled the seating arrangement slightly. All they did was eliminate the gap for couple 1, so instead of couple 1 being on the outer flanks like 1221, with couple 2 being in between couple 1, they made it so it was 1122. So both couples would still get to sit together. PLUS - the movie theater was going to give a full refund to couple 2, meaning they got to see the movie for free.

Sadly this is not unique. Chad Oulson was killed by Curtis Reeves back in 2014 after an argument over Oulson using a phone in the cinema. Oulson threw popcorn over Reeves who then shot him.Amazingly, Reeves was acquitted of the crime on self defense grounds on appeal. Ridiculous!

I disagree about the movie theater being obligated to send out a panic inducing message to all the movie goers. Starting shit to look cool to a girl and pulling a piece when it goes south. I wish I could say that this is rare. The young cats these days have their priorities all fucked up. They do such insane shit for street cred that gets them absolutely nowhere but the grave anyway. Once I was grabbing some food at the mall and while I was online these 2 punkass kids behind me started whispering about snatching something out of my pocket. The craziest part was how their piss poor whisper chat kicked off. One said to the other, "Hey, what would you do if I snatched that out his pocket?" THERE WASN'T EVEN A FUCKING GOAL. They didn't see value in what was in my pocket, they just thought it'd be "cool" to rob someone. Saddest part is they couldn't have been any older than 10.
