I think it was said in the heat of the moment since this is like not even an hour after the crew was traumatized again and covered in the remains of 6 men.

@@nilou-wanter8623 Ok but you asked for this Spoilers “I see a song of past romance” Is about the sirens and how they sang with Odysseus using the image of his wife. “I see the sacrifice of man” This is about Scylla and how Odysseus had to sacrifice some of his men to make it through her. “I see portrayals of betrayal” This is about the mutiny done by his crew. “ and a brothers final stand” This is about how his 1 mate Eurylochus, who was Odysseus brother in law, dies. “I see you on the bring of death” This is either about his low when he contemplates death or later when he has to get past the Charybdis, the whirlpool monster, which he almost dies to. “I see you draw your final breath” Is most likely about when Poseidon meets him again and tried to kill him one last time before he’s saved by Athena who stops Poseidon (this is in the odyssey so it might be a little different in the musical) “I see a man who gets to make it home alive but it’s no longer you” Is about how even though Odysseus makes it back home and uses a cover to hide among the suitors but after all his travels he’s not the same man that left home years ago. 2nd verse “I see your palace covered in red” Once Odysseus gets home he’s enraged to see suitors trying to get to his wife and hurting his son so he attacks and kills all of them. “Faces of men who have long believed your dead” The suitors who believe Odysseus to be dead. “I see your wife with a man who is haunting, a man with a trail of bodies” This is actually Odysseus as he killed the suitors and goes on to live the rest of his life with his wife and son. Most of this is stuff that happens in the OG odyssey so it’s not set in stone but Jorge has been pretty on point with the story so far.
