I don't usually enjoy Punk goes Pop covers but August Burns Red are one of the best bands to appear on these compilations. This cover and their Baby One More Time cover are both fantastic and manage to sound like the originals only with meaty guitars and uncleans throughout, showing that they can turn glitzy pop songs into powerful and heavy melodic metalcore tunes.
This is Punk Goes Pop, where bands create songs FOR FUN. It's like Attila, their lyrics and music suck and are super generic, but it's just fun to listen to with friends. So calm down. Haha

Like, this is throat and diaphragm ruining if you scream it incorrectly and this dude fucking nails it. I've only listened to the constellations album by these guys but this is some amazing musicianship and talent.

I wish i could do those vocals, they are so amazing - screams and melody all together. Knowing how difficult it is to nail that technique, I can always appreciate it when vocalists actually do it in their songs.

I love the variety of punk goes pop. You have all sorts of pop song, bubbly and joyful, sometimes more emotional. And ten you have all sorts of covers, those with lots of screamo, those without, soft punk, hardcore, whatever. I really love all of that 💜
OKAY well firs of all, to those who think this is the worst song on the album, I'm sorry. This song is not the worst as far as musicality, but judging by the vocals I can see where there can be a little concern. But either way who are you to judge whether it's the best or not? August Burns Red is probably the most talented band on this record and they've gotten where they are with no clean vocals at all which is remarkable. I applaud ABR for this cover because they did it justice. They could've sat there with the "Messengers" frame of mind and say, " let's cover this song but make it to where no one can tell what we're playing." (AKA "Drunk In Love" Oceans Ate Alaska) ABR covered a song and changed it a little bit. They did not make the song different or hurt the song in any way, which did it justice. Matt did awesome, the guitars where great, and it was musically different. I loved it. That is my opinion.

It's cool how jake actually made an attempt at singing here :) sure it could have been a bit better, but its still the best song off of punk goes pop 6. Plus they're in the middle of recording their new record, so they obviously had less time to work on this.
One of the few good songs on the album, no surprise that ABR delivered one of the three good songs on this whole album. Jake did a great job with this, as did the rest of the band. Flawless as always. I could see how it'd be easy to hate on this if you weren't familiar with ABR's style. Coming from a longtime fan, this was awesome! Not a meddler or whitewashed, but a solid effort no doubt. The vocal frys sold it for me.

I love ABR. And I'll probably love everything they come out with until they stop making music. But Jake has gotten slightly worse through the years. He was at his best from 06-08. Now he's just kind of nasally, especially his high screams. But don't let this song turn you away from ABR. Its not meant to be taken seriously. And Jake will sound hundreds of times better than this on their upcoming album.

Thats not who ABR is though. This is how they do their songs. Clean vocals isnt something they are known to do. If they brought in a guest singer for the chorus, it wouldnt be "their" cover.

I love August Burns Red and I usually enjoy these "Punk Goes" albums but honestly most of this album is garbage including this song unfortunately. It's a very boring, unimaginative cover in my opinion. They aren't suited for a song like this

vocal styles change to not get stale plus he's been screaming for years eventually it takes a toll on your voice and it might be easier on this vocals to do it like this.
