Got this game a fair while back we love this quick game. I love the fact that there is a take that element but its light nature tends to see happy banter rather than the aggressive in your face that some games can give.
We've definitely enjoyed this. My brother-in-law is a tech diver/instructor...he never made it up until the last round of our last game. Hilarious to see 1 or 2 players head down deep, and then someone else turns around quickly, snatching every thing they can grab on the way up, sucking all the air and leaving the others screwed. Good call reviewing this...and worth every penny!
I wonder whether revealing some of the information and allowing players to reroll one die per turn might expand the decision space slightly and thus encourage more diverse strategies from players between each game.
I saw some other tutorials that said you are meant to look at your treasure token only at the end of the round, if you made it back to the submarine, instead of the moment you take it. Which is correct?
It doesn't really affect anything. There's a few variant ways to do it. Sometimes you can play with hidden scores for the entire game if you like. It's up to the group.

Timing when to head back is key. We played this with family recently...massive drownings. :) Fun game.

This game is brutal. I think I've played it about a dozen times and only ended up with points on the board maybe 3 or 4 of those times.
Meeple Mountain I don't doubt it. My one friend and lunch has scored points all of twice and we've played ~20 times.
We love this game. Its amazing.
Joel have you played Nautilion? While different there are some similarities here.
Oh not seen that one. I like that designer's stuff usually though.
It is of course very different being 1-2 coop, but some of the mechanics and feel are similar (path made out of tokens you collect, dice).
