I have a 18.5ft bayrunner with that type of trailer. Not sure how much the boat weight and trailer weight because the information isn't found anywhere on the boat. Will this kit work for me? My trailer is extremely short at the tongue so I will need to extend it with another piece. Thanks

The Fulton Fold-Away Hinge kit is designed for 2" x 3" trailer tongues. Trailer tongue material thickness must be between .188" and .120" with a capacity of up to 5,000 lbs. You'll want to determine the weight of the boat and trailer, we'd recommend having your trailer/boat weighed to make sure you don't exceed the capacity of the hinge assembly. If your existing trailer tongue meets the above parameters, the hinge kit will work for you. You'll want to make not of the table on the linked product page that shows how the hinge capacity changes with the length of the trailer tongue.

I have I believe copper brake lines running to my actuator. What is your recommendation I do for dealing with that? Thanks!

You'll need to install flexible brake line. We offer them in varying lengths, which you can see near the bottom of the linked product page. www.etrailer.com/Folding-Trailer-Tongue/Fulton/FHDPB230101.html

Thanks for the video. I wanted to order this coupler for my aluminum trailer but I understand you are saying it is not recommended. Im guessing it's to do with aluminum on steel. I was hoping the zinc coating would be enough for it to be safe as well as the large amount of aluminum vs small amount of steel. Online people have said they've used it and had no problems but I wanted to double check before ordering from you guys

Aluminum trailer frames have a greater wall thickness than a steel frame. The bolts that attach the hinge to the trailer frame have a large diameter shoulder which acts like a rivet, holding the parts together very tightly. Since an aluminum trailer frame has a greater wall thickness, the shoulder won't have contact all the way through the metal, resulting in a looser fit.

Should you have cold galvanized where you cut the trailer and bolt holes? It seems like you broke that protective layer open enough to potentially become rust if not treated with something.

Thanks for the tip. We'll bring that up to our video production team.
