Hi Are there specific reasons why you have to dry the cast for 48 hours before glazing?

Before the glazing is done, for smoothening the model it is rubbed over a stone with an even pressure under stream of water (called carborandum stone technique).. so the model is wet now so has to be dried. Otherwise when u immerse the model in a gloss for glazing you won't get the desired result.
