PS: Book at least a year early to get a camping spot or hotel. There's an old historic National Parks Lodge, the Ahwanee, and it's a little pricey. The Yosemite Valley Lodge (family) is also in the valley, but otherwise you'll find the next closest lodging at Wawona or Tenaya Lodges, many miles from the Valley floor but nevertheless in stunning country. You'll just have to drive down into the valley from there.

That's actually the John Muir Trail. The Mist Trail is an out and back hike. Once you reach the top of Nevada Falls, you can either take the Mist Trail back down or the JMT which takes you to Clark Point and eventually merges back with the Mist Trail near the Merced. I recommend taking the JMT down to create somewhat of a loop and take in the incredible views from up top. Enjoy!
