Being a PJ ain’t no joke. I have so much respect for them. They should get as much recognition as SEALs too.

Thank you, coming from a future vet!
Everyone will be screaming to death from conflict, food shortages, disease, and extreme weather by the end of this decade. The US air force will not protect you. They are pansies for not addressing the climate crisis which is an existential threat to humanity and instead focusing on uniting us as a species. You are clearly delusional. Don't Look Up!

I met a couple of PJs once. It was like seeing a rock star, because you rarely see them. Talk about down-to-earth guys.
Loved the series Inside Combat Rescue. An amazing crew of brave men, our country is blessed to have them.
That is great ! I bought the DVD. 👍🇺🇸

my uncle was Pararescue and served in Vietnam, he is no longer with us but never forgotten.
I worked medical materiel in the Air Force and the PJ's would come in to order supplies and no questions asked they wanted it they got it, very cool calm group of men!
Enlisted in 1964 foe Para; took my flight physical in 1965. Their mission has changed drastically.
Thank you Usa Air Force

The best! The bravest! And few no anything about them! 👍👍❤️❤️
It's humbling to watch and listen to these men. Such incredible people, whom I will forever have immense respect for. Yah bless you all.

A great description of what's involved in pararescue teams may be found in the riveting book and true story, The Perfect Storm.
“They wanna make sure they don’t make the same mistake twice… But they do happen a lot especially with the newer guys. We get new guys on the team who never seem to have worked before and we’re able to now somewhat mentor them into getting better.”
I think it’s incredible what these men do. I wanted to do this in the past but I realized I couldn’t because I’m a woman but still a huge props to these people ❤

Fantastici... 👍👍👍👍👍
When people think Special Forces the Air Force never comes to mind. But the PJs ARE elite and there to save lives and they do it so well. AF Combat Controllers are very badass too!!
They keep a low profile, other spec ops units across all services definitely know who they are!
Dream job!
Being a PJ is extremely difficult. Not just passing the training pipeline which has a very high fail rate but also maintaining and improving so many different skill sets (and that's not even including medical skills yet).
They call it Superman School for a reason.
I can’t wait for the chance to be one of them 13 now and can’t wait until I’m 17!
Awesome ambition man! If you want a better chance. Get a GED (from completing high school) and get a college degree in a medical field. Such as medicine, or something health related.
Thanks
There’s literally 140-200 Air Force PJs, the pipeline is very strict and there’s a 99% chance you won’t get a slot. Not bc you aren’t physically or mentally qualified, but because their pipeline is already full.
Isn’t it a critically manned career field. Idk about that. It is hard but the number of qualified candidates is plummeting. Then again maybe that was more a problem for the green berets since they have a much larger number of special forces they need to maintain.
@@Sanfu69there’s a little over 10,000 SF qualified Army service members, less than 200 PJs. I know there’s also less than 30 CRO’s in the Airforce too (Officer’s who are PJ qualified). What changes things now is that you can’t choose to be a PJ, you have to enter the AF special warfare pipeline as an 9T500 (Special Warfare Candidate) you don’t get to choose what specific job you want PRIOR to enlistment anymore. You go through the Special Warfare selection process and then you are assigned to a pipeline based on what’s available and your performance in the selection.
@@MrZachgonz I see. That’s crazy. Thanks for the reply. I’m active duty now and have been training so I can cross-train sometime down the road before my contract ends so this is something of considerable importance to me. I guess even not getting PJ just getting any one of those SW jobs I’d be glad to have and be in the community.
>500, including guard and reserves.

All of this are amazing, those guys are doing such an important job, they risk their own life to rescue others.

I’m from Jamaica and I want to be a PJ.
To join the Air Force, you must live in the United States or an area that has an AF recruiter. You must also possess a 10 Green Card with over 2 years remaining prior to the expiration date to join if you are not a US citizen. For Space Force, members must be a US Citizen to be eligible to join. Applicants must be between 17 and 42; meet the mental, moral, and physical standards for enlistment; and must speak, read, and write English fluently.
The Air Force and Space Force does not bring applicants to the US to join unless there is an AF/USSF recruiting office or Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) to process through. You must complete all immigration processing and get to the United States legally on your own. The AF does not help.
