  • The Fawley Hill Estate is set in the rolling hills of Fawley, Buckinghamshire and is home to the Fawley Hill Railway which is the steepest standard gauge railway track in the world. Set up by the late Sir William McAlpine the Estate houses one of the most impressive collections of railway memrobobia. Lady Judith McAlpine has kept the legacy of Sir Robert McAlpine going by keeping the collection and hiring out the railway for private events but Lady Judy is also very passionate about preserving Britain's Engineering Heritage for future generations to show them how things were back in the day and to keep machines from Traction Engines and Steam Rollers to Milltary Tanks and Historic Vehicles in working order instead of putting them in a museum where the skills to uses these types of vehicles will be lost over a few generations.
Fawley Hill Steam & Vintage Transport Festival 2024 might be the last show of its type being open to the public on the Fawley Hill Estate so there was a good turnout of vehicles of all different types. Well over 20 full size Traction Engines. Steam Rollers and Steam Wagons with plenty of Miniatures as well. A good selection of Vintage Tractors, Historic Commercial Vehicles and Public Services Vehicles. Military vehicles were also featured as well as a Tank.
A Big thanks to the host of the event Lady Judith McAlpine for opening up Fawley Hill to the public another big thanks to all of the organisers and staff for putting on such a great show in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

First class day out, very sad if this is to be the last but as Lady McAlpine said, she is eighty years old now and is not sure that she can do it any more, a lovely piece of old England.

Definitely a stunning place, it was my first time going there it's such a shame if that's the final event.

I did think that the maniac in the Tank needed to slow down a little, nearly threw Lady McAlpine off the top on Friday.

I filmed on the Saturday and he was still going full throttle in the tank with Lady McAlpine on the front. Health and safety would shut that down at other shows but it is basically her garden.

Excellent video . I was there on the Friday . It's a shame that this video was spoilt by excessive advertising.

Terrific turnout. That diesel conversion ploughman's engine is quite a contraption isn't it.

Sure is the last time I saw one was in 2018 at The 50th Great Dorset Steam Fair. The size of it is impressive seeing that move about and it was made in 1918 as well well ahead of its time.

They look like they struggle to move. There's probably a law that forbid them to use coal or wood to heat the boiler probably.
