Power is enough...it's the drag the issue. Each new model is bigger and heavier plus basically all Xdrive. My old E90 177ps rwd is faster and more agile.
I recently had the opportunity to drive a 330i Touring. This car is really awesome! It’s so smooth to drive but in sport mode it’s an actual beast. Really love it !
Da mein Renault Megane Grandtour kaputt gegangen ist, habe ich mir vor zwei wochen auch den 320d mit xdrive gekauft. Der Wagen ist wirklich super und der Motor Bärenstark. @@kordaxmint533 You don't buy a 320d to get supercar performance. It is a luxury premium car, the materials are amazing in the interior and the car is build in a very high quality overall. It also drives so well.
Hello! Was this car on m passive or m adaptive dampers? If on passive, how did you like the setup? I drove an m340d on adaptive suspension and wasn't entirely convinced, the smaller more abrupt road imperfections weren't being filtered that much better in comfort than in passive IMO. Thanks!
Hi Alex i drove it with adaptive suspension. I really enjoyed the ride but tbh i have no comparison to the m passiv suspension. So I can't give you a proper answer. But I think the suspension is worth its 600€ (in combination with the M package. Which i think is a must have). M340d sounds like fun!
The difference is not in gear length, the difference is in the powerband. Diesel engines hit their peak torque and hp much faster and earlier than petrol engines, therefore they dont need the same number of rpm like petrol engines (hence the use in heavy vehicles like trucks, vans etc.). Gear length can only be compared with the same combustion type.
@@zheson5-speed953 Nope , it's also in the gear ratio. Just go look at the stats online , easy to find. Also diesels suffer wayyy less being in high rpm ( fuel consumption speaking ) than diesels . If I stay high rpm in a gasser drinks a lot, not a diesel.

Agree. BMW really builds great cars. They got decent engines, the transmission is great, the iDrive (until OS7...) is mature and much better than the Touchscreen only stuff. But this new Cockpit is awful and I have not seen a single person appreciate it. I really can't understand it, it's so sad.
Unless you really need the extra economy its a no brainer to get the 40d over the 20d the difference in performance is worth the extra cost if you ask me and you could still do 60 mpg (around 4.7L/100km) if you really tried but low to mid 50s (around 5L/100km) is more likely with the xDrive taking a bit of it as well.
