It's frustrating that almost every video I go to, there seem to be people arguing over the genre or sub-genre of the track. It really doesn't matter. We're all here because we either really like a tune, or are discovering new ones. Let's all discover and appreciate together, rather than hating on eachother. I'm sure that's what the artist intended. Peace
@Chadderbomb : Two Points to both Chadder and Capital. Honestly hate that everytime I click on a song, these convos are even going on, but glad to see someone that has been into EDM as long as me. Going on 20 years of listening to EDM steadily and DJ'ing for 15 of those years. SHY FX is the man period. All that needs to be said: Tune is Epic!!!
Look, can we stop trying to pigeonhole it, and enjoy it for what it is. Great mix. ShyFX REALLY needs to get some new stuff out soon, Im in need of a fix...
@SomeKidKyle Drumstep and DnB are both 174 bpm (give or take a few beats). The difference is that there's only one snare per measure, as opposed to DnB which has 2, which is why DnB sounds faster. They're in fact the same speed in terms of hits per min, even though Drumstep *feels* slower.
@flynnbob080 it is him. he's changed quite a bit from mad junglist if you have actually listened to any new stuff. This remix is on the B side of the 'She Said' single credited as Shy FX. so that's about as solid proof as it's possible to get.
I know I'm wasting my breath on you and everyone but without genres finding similar music would be a chore! Seriously, imagine going in to a record shop and being like "I want a tune that sounds like Shy Fx and some bloke whips out Deekline because in his mind they're the same." NO. Definition in sound to a certain extent is what helps us define movements, find collections and diversify over time.
@rambry Dubstep 140, Drum & Bass around 180, Drumstep is variable depends if beat goes 127, 134 or whatever the maker chose but it lies in a range from 150 to even 200. THIS is soft Drum and Bass guys, look up Dub Zero and you will see what Drumstep is
@rambry drumstep = about 170 to 175 bpm and so is drum&bass. the typical drumstep beat is just half timed kicks and snares and mostly doubled hihats. dubstep is like 140. @all "shit mix"-guys - obviously this isnt dub oder drumstep at all but some kind of a freaking epicness from old shy at 133bpm (if someone cares)
This isn't drumstep, whoever says it is hasnt got a clue what their talking about Go listen to "Original Sin - Step On" or "Original Sin & Taxman - Penamana" if you don't know what drumstep is
Sounds like sound of softish breakbeat to me... Most definetly isn't drumstep, easy enough to mistake though. It'd be drumstep if the drums where that slow and the rest of the track was at standard dnb tempo (I do beleive). Either way, it all comes from jungle..
im sorry but there is just no way that shy fx did this, nothin he has ever done is like this, its not on any website with anything to do with him either, i need to know if this is really him, someone please prove me wrong
Unless you're a producer/DJ this kind of pedantic information would be pointless to you. I'm speaking for the average joe here that loves EDM. Most people know the main branches of dance music, but you start sounding like you're up yourself when you say stuff like "none of you seem to know anything about EDM" no one has time to research this stuff. Just enjoy the music
This is Breakbeat. You may not of heard of that as a genre because none of you actually seem to know anything about electronic music. You can't catagorise Electro into just Dubstep or Drum 'n' Bass or Drumstep. There's 100s of subgenres & none of them can be simply defined by 3 stupid sentences. You listen to enough of each genre, figure out the sounds, the feel, the rough tempo (most of them are not strictly bound - except mumbahton [108] which is shit anyway & 100bpm) & much more, then explain
still loving this ....droped it las night place went mad ...happydayz
I like mixing this with my 174 sets, sounds amazing playing it faster at the same pitch
I don't care what genre it is, it's great.
breaks at it's best. glad to see shy fx going back to making quality tunes.
The best ever Remix.

The best remix for this song until 2024🎉🎉🎉
@adtither
Haha, glad I'm not the only one who noticed! :3
Im still listening now 2024👍👍💯💯
classic shy fx like in thier early days, and its beak beat slowed down to not comprimise the vocals i think.
love it
Look, can we stop trying to pigeonhole it, and enjoy it for what it is. Great mix. ShyFX REALLY needs to get some new stuff out soon, Im in need of a fix...

Truer words have seldom been spoken.

I know I'm wasting my breath on you and everyone but without genres finding similar music would be a chore! @rambry Dubstep 140, Drum & Bass around 180, Drumstep is variable depends if beat goes 127, 134 or whatever the maker chose but it lies in a range from 150 to even 200. THIS is soft Drum and Bass guys, look up Dub Zero and you will see what Drumstep is
Silly Billy's Its clearly DnB if its a Shy FX mix ;D
@RUNit416 but it is!
@SomeKidKyle dont worry about it mate. drumstep is made at 170 to 175. i.e. the same as drum and bass. what tempo do you think its made at then?
@hodds79 amen to that ! it's so clear to the ones who know ;)

@Subsignalmusic Actually most drumstep is 165 - 180. Trust me ive mixed some crazy drumstep tracks before
@flynnbob080 ur wrong its on itunes
@I3locK don't they call it UK Funky now?
@I3locK drumstep is same speed as dnb with dubstepish drums

So much but hurt in this chat :D
omg its not drumstep not house and not breakbeat
Its just good
is this really a shy fx mix :S
for some reason i doubt it
I totally only chose this version of the remix because I saw Shy FX and it was 4:20 long...
@rambry yeah give it to him :D
Gotta love how this sounds like an entirely different song from the 16bit remix.
first ever youtube comment i would copy paste to every other video! =)
sik remix shy fx does it again XD
@Chadderbomb haha :p cheeky git ;)
@SomeKidKyle dnb and drumstep are the same lol
breakbeat-ish with some electronic/trance-ish melody at times, now get over it and stop arguing
@TheDnBRave actually is surprisingly, on itunes under him n everything so must be real :/
This isn't drumstep, whoever says it is hasnt got a clue what their talking about
Go listen to "Original Sin - Step On" or "Original Sin & Taxman - Penamana" if you don't know what drumstep is
Oh my days who gives a fucking toss about what genre or what bpm it is jus enjoy the fucking song.
@Subsignalmusic i know mate... thats what i said
shy fx? u sure
looks like someone was so plastered he missed the like button
Sounds like sound of softish breakbeat to me... Most definetly isn't drumstep, easy enough to mistake though. It'd be drumstep if the drums where that slow and the rest of the track was at standard dnb tempo (I do beleive). Either way, it all comes from jungle..
@rambry youve been owned to be honest bro lmao piss funny
what i meant by that is exactly what fragitza said, i was too lazy to explain myself.
"pedantic"
@MasonBlud wikipedia is as reliable as him, as anyone can put on what they want, "bum boi"
@SomeKidKyle lol drumstep is just half-time dnb, same tempo, different rhythm. get it right son
Who fucking cares what genre it is, it's fucking boss either way.
im sorry but there is just no way that shy fx did this, nothin he has ever done is like this, its not on any website with anything to do with him either, i need to know if this is really him, someone please prove me wrong

As if it is 4:20 haha
It's just DnB lol
@I3locK are you fucking kidding? drumstep is made at the same bpm as dnb YOU douchebag. this is clearly closer to being a breaks track, below 140
@adtither Pot Head Lol
I am a producer, and a dj :p and a label owner.
