I played both games, and In my humble opinion i prefer the "bad" ending... diying for my loved ones and glory... the end when the bomb explodes and your comrades salute you and she says "Dont be afraid! there's nothing to be afraid of anymore" really touching
Last Light follows the bad ending of Metro 2033 , if you get the bad ending , you don't as a hero , you die protecting innocents , sure , but you still murdered an entire race (the dark ones) even though you are a hero for humans , you're a monsters among monsters.

Never could I think that a song could capture so much in a game, this really adds to the ending and when you consider this is then ending most people faced the first time it plays out so well, a character who you build a connection to through two games, never leaving their eyes hearing them kindle their thoughts, you are Artyom. and you know what must be done.
Artyom is the most badass character not because of his combat prowess, but because of his compassion. Artyom (In the canon ending) Spared everybody he could, even if it meant he was in serious pain or risked his entire mission. he showed the compassion of A saint, only taking A life if completely necessary or if the person was so gone it did not matter. He understood the person showing hostility to him were just scared, hurt, and desperate individuals, trying to survive in a broken world. It is for this reason I believe he is not only the most badass character, but the most compassionate, Kind and morally just character out of any game. He even spared some wildlife that understood him.

I actually got the Good Ending first, but that is maybe, because i spend 5x more time in each level then other players, :-) (Until i get short on gas mask filters, then i was forced to proceed with level completion :3 :D )

I remember, when i got the bad ending on my first run. I didn't even think about the games morale system. Just straight up shot people everywhere and spared none of my enemies. The ending took me by suprise that i was shocked, sad to the point of crying and mourned the loss of my beloved Artyum and the spartans! :'(

I beat the game in both endings, Bad and Good. Both of them made me cry.

There are 2 endings to the game, one for good karma, one for bad (karma is very hard to get to good)

I remember, when i got the bad ending on my first run. I didn't even think about the games morale system. Just straight up shot people everywhere and spared none of my enemies.
The ending took me by suprise that i was shocked, sad to the point of crying and mourned the loss of my beloved Artyum and the spartans! :'(
