SONY made a very long-lasting dual alarm clock. Setting up the alarm on this alarm clock isn't hard once you figure out how to do that.

Thank you so much. I have one and I completely forgot how to set the alarm. Your instruction is very much appreciated because now I can use it as an alarm clock.

Question about the "Battery Back-up": What is the purpose for the "Battery Back-up"? Is it to simply RETAIN the information such as time, date, etc when the power fails or does it allow the clock to STAY LIT AND EXECUTE THE ALARM if the power remains out? Note: My "Bad Battery Indicator light", on the bottom right, does not illuminate even if I remove the battery. In other words, I do not know if the battery is still good so I changed the battery with a new 3 V Lithium (3.3V tested) and when I unplug the clock the Display remains black. So, again, does the "back-up" only SAVE the information but the clock Display/Alarm is still NON-Functional UNTIL the power is restored or is it Suppose to keep the display illuminated/functional until the power is resumed.

Yes, if power goes out. The battery backup will save the settings and time. Well worth the money to have that for us.

@@netman88 Thank you for the fast response; however, does it ONLY do that and NOT work if the power remains out? In other words, if I need my alarm to go off for work and the power goes out while I am asleep, does that mean I will not be woken up with the battery back-up and the display will be blank?
