Tbh, it was just a matter of time until Olivia and Ethan split. Olivia has grown so much throughout the years and she is much more of an extraverted person. Ethan didn't grow as much and stuck to his religious roots a lot. His conservative views are incompatible with hers and he shouldn't force her to change them and submit to him. It's clear he thinks womand and girls are lesser than men and boys and Olivia has already been through that with her family so she won't let regressive things like that fly.
