I have one of those, for the same reasons- it works and is affordable. I'm in the process of getting a Stinson, too, so its good to see you can wear yours comfortably in yours.
I started wearing a helmet snowboarding and skiing back in 1999. I did get bugged back then. But I tell you what. Seeing stars and still wearing a helmet makes you think how bad it would have been with out one!! They ain’t called brain buckets for nothing!! Great review. I also think HJC makes great helmets. Had a few for dirt biking/street bikes and loved them.
I sure hope I never see stars wearing this helmet because if I do something has went very wrong. Though if it does happen I sure will be happy I was wearing it.
A helmet for flying never occurred to me. You video has been a success in making me consciously think about that now. Cost less than filling the airplane up with fuel? How much gas does the Stinson hold?
Well the 108-3 holds 50 gallons. I use the helmet for the unmarked/backyard/farm field landings. When just going out around Troy I don't see the risk being high enough to justify it. The STOL contests and playing ATV airplanes I sure think it makes sense.
Interesting, when I am out flying the Cessna around with friends and family I don't helmet up. I have found that when flying to peoples backyards or off field I sure like it, I also carry a trauma kit, 3 days of rations, water purification ect. in the trunk.
This is a great idea.......especially when you are practicing STOL: aggressive short landings with early braking, etc. I am a long time motorcyclist and helmets are essential. Many of the attributes and dangers of flying are similar. I think you have a great perspective. I might go without it on 100 degree days though........lol.

Really helpful review. Appreciate you putting it together. Enjoy that Stinson!

This thumbnail is gold, you already get an instant like!
I thought it was an awesome thumbnail! The RUclips algorithm seems to disagree. 😂

Thanks for watching. The idea wasn't mine, but I'm sure glad someone told me I'd have to wear one.
Who did you purchase this helmet

I purchased it from Comtronics. It took a while to get
