11:41 moth, butterfly, and dragonfly iridescence are my favorite expressions of color. Genuinely the most beautiful and vibrant displays of color I’ve ever seen. And you can’t even recreate it since it’s 100% based on microscopic cellular structures that are incredibly delicate…. So you can’t even depict the color properly over media. It’s something YOU HAVE to see in person for yourself. I also just remembered that hummingbirds have this thing too with their feathers.
Also if you’ve ever seen sunset moths, those things are extremely beautiful moths (though they kinda look like swallow tail butterflies, doesn’t help with the confusion that they’re also day-flying moths
thank you for rewinding every time you pause to talk about something. So many reactors just completely miss what they're watching just to talk about their own stuff
As something interesting, the day-flying moth called the sunset moth is one of the most iridescent and beautiful I’ve seen, their wings sporting a rainbow of blacks, oranges, teals (or turquoise), greens, even a bit of blue or purple in there. Only difficult thing is even telling them apart from swallowtail butterflies on a cursory glance since they look so similar and are active at daytime.
Fun fact about blue structural coloration: it's not just unique to butterflies, almost any animal that's blue or green uses it. In green's case, it's because they're usually yellow under it.
Kinda sad skipperlings were not mentioned. For those who don’t know skipperlings are kinda like the middle ground between moth and butterfly. They also have a stocky body, big eyes, and do short bursts of flight (iirc), hence the name
Especially if you live in a low-class family who has adapted to tastes that a large majority of society would find not good (I would only accept black licorice as "bad" its ok)
I love licorice so much- when I was younger I HATED jellybeans, and only liked the black ones. so I would trade the colorful jellybeans for the black ones. good trades all around. It's actually a comfort snack tbh. still dont like jellybeans. though i have bonded with a sustitute teacher over black licorice before, i called him the licorice guy and if i had ome we would share lol.
The scale shape and angle creating the colour of butterfly wings is why they make good display animals, and you often see boxes of butterflies pinned up on display. Because those structures remain after it dies and can be preserved. However colours made with chemicals or pigments degrade and decompose very rapidly after death, and can't really be preserved at all, and since moths colour is entirely from pigments and chemicals not scale structure they all go a rubbish brown colour soon after death. Which is why you never see display cases of moths. Which is damn shame because a lot of moth species are actually far prettier and interesting than their butterfly counterparts.
Chavezz coming from a previous video Spider-Man explains that his webs are biodegradable which means they dissolve on their own without polluting and ruining everything
Ngl when I saw the solo Lindsay Nicole video I assumed either Skitten just wasn't rockin with it or she'd be mad. Also True: Mad respect for throwing viewers into the "deept end" to learn stuff that isn't the absolute basics.
I don't think it'll be brought up here but butterflies do actually literally perceive light in a different way than us. We can only see a combination of 3 primary colors but they can see with 5. Which I rhink lets them see 10,000 colors we can't (don't quote that number I can't remember where it came from)
I know you guys Love Zefrank animal style videos… BUT AS A COUPLE!! LOL I would be interested in you guys take on his earlier video essay work before he got in his animal bag! I think it’ll get you a peak at how he got to where he is now✨✨✨ ruclips.net/video/IE-P11KKYFs/видео.htmlsi=MWXLJ36_ofWkRO25

Spiders are only hated because of their skittish nature. Theyd be more liked if they had a calm demeanour. Theyre shifty.
Also some spiders are poisonous
@@CDVEducateno. Venomous, not poisonous.
@@chill-lady-brook It's cus he eat them spiders
That’s the reason stuff like tarantulas are somewhat liked there not as skittish and quick
@@chill-lady-brooksome are poisonous too

No she spittin facts, I was like 'where is skitten' with Lindsey video tho 😂

We have been doing this on and off for years and this is the first comment i can remember reading about it. Thanks so much!
The propulsion and butterfly flap graphics would be a really cool tattoo

Some birds also use same light trick to get their vibrant colours for their mating dances. I think the bird of paradise is one
The one he made about ticks scared the shit out of me

We should send them some "hockey pucks" xD

Probably because taxonomically skipperlings are still classified as butterflies within lepidoptera.
@@Hermititis that’s true. Still I always found them a bit of an oddball compared to butterflies
Butterflies have real life shinies for collectors.
Always love to see you two react to the amazing zefrank

I kinda like some of it, but I absolutely despise the salty black ones
So what did we learn butterflies are holographic sometimes
I feel attacked specifically because I eat red vines. They are NOT that bad.
Pretty sure I'm not the first one to think this, but Zefrank videos sounds like it was narrated by Taika Waititi's Korg.
