I have also made spoons from tea-spoons and old large brass ‘serving spoons’, and they work well. The handle can be used to make a ‘Toby’ type of lure. What I like best about your work is that you show you don’t have to spend £10,000 (or dollars) on a workshop first, simple hand tools will do a good job. Thank you! Les in UK

I like tinkering too, but to ruin a perfectly good spoon, plus all that time and effort, it just isn't worth it. You can buy fishing spoon blanks, all different shapes, sizes, finishes, and thicknesses, on several different websites, and with split rings and hooks, you'll spend only a couple dollars each total. This is by far the best way to buy spoons, way better than paying big bucks for a brand name spoon.
