There are a lot of long-time coaches in college hoops today, who have experienced success at the highest level & are looked at as icons by those who mete out publicity. None, and I mean none, can eclipse Dick Bennett as teachers of the game, and in the ability to instill heart, guts, and tenacity. He succeeded the right way, the honest way, with integrity. I'd love to see some of todays' coaches flail away trying to follow the same guidelines.
IIRC Wisconsin pretty much needed to win this game to qualify for the NCAA tournament as an at large team while Minnesota had already wrapped up the Big 10 title and the auto bid(last year with no Big 10 tournament) and despite not really having anything to play for against a desperate Wisconsin team this was a really good game.
lol they had a ton to play. Do you even watch college basketball or march madness? They were playing for a better ranking..lol you clearly have no idea about anything lol. This isnt like they already where ranked in the tournament
@@justi139 I know of what I speak. Minnesota had won the Big 10 title already and was locked in as a #1 seed. Wisconsin was on the bubble in 1997 and needed a win to get in. They got it and made the tourney
