    Georgians lost 2 regions to Russia. I hope the Rus refugees are being respectful of this.

      Russians doesnt know the word "respect". These people didnt care when russia invaded Georgia and stole land, murdered civilans etc, and didnt care when Ukrainians was attacked and murdered. But now, when the shit hits the fan, they flee to people they've earlier opressed and want shelter.

    Whilst the stories are sad, I have to say that I do not feel sorry for the people of Russia. They should be staying home and freeing their country from the rule of gangsters like Putin & co.
    Why do they only run away when *their lives* are in danger? Those thousands of innocent Ukrainians who were killed in recent months did not matter? Only when their lives are at risk? I can't understand this, sorry.
    Also, you emphasize how much money people have to pay for this and that - look, that is just money. Believe me that those people that are killed in Ukraine every day would give everything they have to live just one more day with their loved ones.

      @@emailofjamesw Why, getting killed while fighting a war that nobody wants besides of Putin is any better? What is the difference? Like actually haveing balls to stand up for yourself? The entire situation, how Russia is today and how it has been in the past 30 years, is to blame on the Russian people themselves, because they are the ones who allow it. Why don't we have it in western countries? Because we throw out anyone immediately who attempts even 1% of what Russian "leaders" do, though calling them gangsters would probably be closer to the truth. The bad example of Germany and Russia stands as an example in front of all of us, and trust me, we have all learned from it. Actually, talking of the Germans, it is exemplary how they teach about the bad choices of the past in schools to their children, while all that happens in Eastern Europe is acting as nothing has ever happened and looking the other way and minding your own business all the time. That way, you won't have your freedom. Never.

      Awfully harsh judgment. My mother had a funny saying when I was a kid when I would be judging someone else. She used to say, “Never judge an Indian until you walk a mile in their moccasins.“ I thought it was dorky when I was a kid but looking back, she was right. I don’t know that I would do anything different than what these guys have done if I were in their situation.
      I have great compassion for these guys. They deserve sanctuary. They are political refugees. It doesn’t mean they can’t go back to Russia when Putin falls to try to form a better government, it just means they’re not willing to kill or be killed for a perverse and corrupt government. In a perfect world? Yeah it would be nice if they were organized and able to stand up to the megalithic monster that is their government and Armed Forces. But they’re just ordinary guys. They’re frightened and they’re trying to escape hell. I have great compassion for them as well as Ukrainians who are suffering. The whole situation is appalling.

    There is only one definition for the word “defecation” and it means “to poop”.

      @@jreifsnyder2225, Do you believe that Putin can jail everyone in Russia?
      They’re chicken chits. That’s a fact. 10 million Russians have left Russia. 300,000 left so far after mobilization. Russia’s entire military, including logistics is 1 million. If the Russians who left were to fight, they could very easily defeat the Russian military. Especially while they are busy losing to Ukraine.

    • @starbock
      @starbock 2 года назад +9

      @@jreifsnyder2225 Indeed. It's western mindset to think that they can just protest and force their government to do the "right" thing. I have friends who left Russia long before all this latest nightmare. Their stories are difficult for us westerners to believe. GULags are not "just" prisons ... I agree that the Russian people need to develop accountability; they do have a mindset to assign blame to deflect responsibility (I would argue a survival, self-preservation mechanism). And, I also think it's western shortsightedness to believe it's just a matter of not being apathetic - it's far more complex than that. Yes, I'm a westerner.

    Funny how you call them "refugees". Ukraine hasn't bombed their houses or didn't invade them, they aren't refugees. Georgians became the real refugees after Russia orchestrated Abkhazian and Ossetian separatism and more than 300,000 Georgians had to leave their homes. Ukrainians became the real refugees after Russia invaded them. The citizens of Russia aren't refugees, they are runaways from the conscription in the war some of them still supports. They flee to the country that their own motherland Russia has occupied since 2008.
