Caleb’s tape looked different last year as opposed to the prior seasons because USC had a terrible OL, terrible defense, weak skill position players and questionable game planning. USC had to score 40 plus to win games which forced Caleb to try more and take more risks. With that said he still had 30 TDs and only 5 INTs and 3 of the 5 INTs came in one bad half against ND. Haha!

They talk about the talent around him, but it’s the Bears offensive line that is questionable. If you don’t have time, gonna be hard to get the ball to your talent.

I have agree on one thing, Fields physically, arm talent was the best QB the Bears ever drafted. But it was mental stuff that he couldn’t overcome. It wasn’t all his fault either. Bad OC had him throw like 7 screen passes in a row. He had a bad o-line. And only one good WR

The oc, and the offensive line, were both saddled with a qb {Fields}, that isn't suited for the NFL. Unless Fields changes positions, he will be out of the league after the 2025 season!!

I wholeheartedly disagree with Kurt that the Bears didn't try to keep Justin in the pocket to teach him how to be a passer. I can count a couple of series of games where they tried to adjust the gameplan to be more in the pocket. One was at the start of last year and one was the year before. Last year, everyone was wondering to start the season, why is the gameplan so different from what it was late in the previous season (where they were doing more rollouts and on the move stuff to make Justin comfortable)? The reason was they were trying to get him to sit in the pocket and go through his reads so he can learn to be a better passer. The results over several games were miserable and Justin came out in the media saying he's thinking too much due to coaching. The media also jumped all over the Bears coaches for not putting him on the move more often early last season (I think Kurt included if I recall correctly). They absolutely did try to force him to learn that part of the game but it's like putting a square peg in a round hole. He couldn't handle that consistently over 3 seasons, not for a lack of trying by the coaches. Say what you want about their playcalling, etc, but that's just inaccurate and some revisionist history. Justin does some great and special things, but being a pocket passer is not one of them and I don't think ever will be.

People forget when plays were called for Justin to be a pocket passer, he held the ball too long and got sacked. The Bears line wasn’t as bad as people make it out to be. If I remember correctly, like 40% of the sacks the bears had were because Justin held the ball too long.

Williams and Fields are polar opposite. Williams will adjust and develop.

No. Fields wasn't good. It wasn't the fact he had to play football. That's kind of his job.

Justin Fields is doing the exact same things in Pittsburgh. His release is too slow, he has a hitch in his step, and he is two read QB. PERIOD.

Warner sounds like he doesnt want to admit Caleb is way better than Fields because then he'll have to admit he was wrong for ever wanting to keep him over Williams.

I love how he’s talking about how the Bears basically did Justin Fields wrong when that entire regime has since been replaced

Kurt seems to be critical of Caleb as a mechanism for protecting Fields....dude just was not good enough...and you insult his entire by trying to justify his inability to play well to his teammates not being good enough....classic narcissism....
