This is based one No.1 moba in china which is actually good, the lore of the world is fully established and the abilities of the characters is based on the original. I'm very excited for this its been 2 yrs since they 1st announced this game.
Honor of Kings is a great game and would probably actively compete with league if released on PC, it already destroys Wild Rift and is more played than, as someone who plays league and used to be an active HoK player, actually the best mid laner in my city (the game shows you those statistics) I can't tell you this company knows what they're doing, they also have has collabs with the likes of Knights of the Zodiac in the form of both skins and characters and Sailor Moon meaning there's a lot of cross over potential with this game, I hope it's good but I won't lie that it looks kinda mid besides the graphics

The reason WR isnt doing so great is because PC players look down on mobile games in the west, while mobile players are already invested in other Mobas.
It set a precedent for gacha games that want to do open worlds, it should at least look visually appealing and have fleshed out animations. Now I'm waiting for an open world gacha that looks just as good while actually playing well, not sure how achievable that is though since it's something only triple a games with their massive budgets have done

The movement and exploration looks pretty interesting from the trailer alone. Hopefully there's a revamp to the character models because Tectone is right about how forgettable it makes them look. On the other hand, the combat aesthetics are insanely impressive and Douluo Dalu anime graphics aren't too bad to look at.
Gameplay doesn't look good, it looks flashy. Also, some people would prefer non-forgettable characters, you're a gameplay andy, but other may like to connect with their characters. If the characters are going to be the heroes from Honor of Kings MOBA then they need no revamp, since they are already well know and loved for who plays the game, the first time i played i also thought they weren't really memorable but their desing and gameplay compensate for the first impression, the thing is that people who play genshin are already accustomed with anime desing, which is ironical since most anime share similar body desing, but you guys are not going to have much problem remembering the characters probably

Yeh , so Honor of Kings is the tencent version of League of legends that a lot of chinese people plays on mobile if they dont play LOL , and this is their version of MMORPG (maybe) or its just a solo open world. We can see they put their champions in the game , the pink hair with the double dagger is MuLan for exemple. The puppet man Yuange is also a champion in the game. All the character expect the MC you see is a playable character from the moba game

If there is a game that can compete with Genshin in China , it is probably this one and it is rooted in Chinese culture. People also know these heroes so this is likely to be good in China. The other markets would likely not see it being as popular.
The stufff that isn't cutscenes in the trailer looks a lot like the 'Genshinn remade in Unreal engine' demo that popped up not too long ago. Combat takes huge influence from Tower of Fantasy... Let's hope greed doesn't destroy it.

Not only a click bait title, but also an insult to what many people call 2,5D or anime cell shading graphics. Genshin by design has 2D anime styled graphics and it takes a lot of work to turn a 3D world and characters to look like they are 2D. Its like saying that 3D CGI movies look better than anime. I, for one, really enjoy the minimal HUD. Ever since i've played Witcher 3 with Friendly HUD mod. I wish more games had this. In short, show me HP bar when in combat, show me minimap when i want to / when im using a mount. Highly customizable, but simply put, give me things like that, otherwise hide the whole HUD. This one, single mod completely changed the way i see game interfaces.

The thing that makes games like this fail is that the trailers make you think this could take the throne the genshin's undeserving ass is sitting down on, but miss the mark in what genshin had nailed in order to survive this long are 3 things. 1)unique art style that had never been done before. 2) character design and attention to detail that captivates the player. 3) Keeping everything so stupidly simple, even a 5-year-old could understand what the heck is going on without any other individuals guidance. It is so simple that spending money is only a matter of a few clicks. Add that to the predatory practices that basically make it seem necessary to spend even even when you don't, you got top earning gatcha of the year people. Now HoK World is a spin off of the game that involves certain characters from the moba in a more RPG setting. I get the annoyance with Tencent in China because they interact with a lot of their games considering most of their games are domestic and for foreign ventures all they do are publishing, but do the people that complaint about Tencent outside of China ever touch any of their game or are they just jumping on the bandwagon?
This was the game I wanted to play back in the day but I couldn't without a bunch of annoying steps so I decided to play genshin instead to satisfy that wuxia/xianxia craving, ironic that Wangzhe Rongyao decides to copy Mihoyo and go the open world gacha route too now

Definitely not a phone game. If it will be playable on the phone, probably less than 5% of the phones in the world might be able to run it with 2hr battery backup.

personally ik dont like it. graphically its insane yes , but to me it doesnt fit with the gasha aesthetic , i'd rather keep the genshin impact anime-ish style but push that graphic to have realistic shading and way of 'giving life' to the in game content like this game does , but realistic graphics like this one are better on survival games or games where you'll really focus on your environment

This was the game I wanted to play back in the day but I couldn't without a bunch of annoying steps so I decided to play genshin instead to satisfy that wuxia/xianxia craving, ironic that Wangzhe Rongyao decides to copy Mihoyo and go the open world gacha route too now

It's a decent marketing strategy if they can do it well but if they don't then it'll be a massive flop like tof. Also tencent is well known for making copied games, like honor of kings which is a mobile copy of league. This game blew up in china making a lot of money which lead to more mobile mobas being developed by other companies, also doing the hypetrain riding strategy.

Definitely not a phone game. If it will be playable on the phone, probably less than 5% of the phones in the world might be able to run it with 2hr battery backup.
graphically, I'mma be real I am not a fan of this realistic looking anime artstyle, same with final fantasy. I just can't get behind that artstyle personally in terms of anime stuff.

personally ik dont like it. graphically its insane yes , but to me it doesnt fit with the gasha aesthetic , i'd rather keep the genshin impact anime-ish style but push that graphic to have realistic shading and way of 'giving life' to the in game content like this game does , but realistic graphics like this one are better on survival games or games where you'll really focus on your environment
