We did this less that a week ago, now trying to identify those birds. Is a great place to visit, I would definitely go again. Enjoyed your video. Wish I had spent more time on the signs.
Hi Luke, thanks for the great video. I have a question: I have a son with limited mobility, but he loves birds. I see the section at the end where you feed them seems pretty flat. Is there a way to just enter that section at the end with a wheelchair, rather than traversing all the bridges and stairs? Thanks for any help!
I don't remember, but Google Maps shows 6AM opening. It'd be worth going by to check, it's only a few minutes past the meeting spot for excursions, so you could easily check. Depending on how long your excursion is, it might be easier to go afterwards, as getting off the ship with everyone else always takes a while, and it's a decent walk to the port area.
Pretty much all day. Yes, you should be able to go in the afternoon, we've seen people there all day while we were in port. Just allow an hour or two to go through, and have time to get back to the ship.
There was not, but they no longer provide that. I have updated this video with new information on my new cruise channel, check that video out here: ruclips.net/video/GpvW3GOl99Y/видео.html
The cruise line offers aviary tickets at specific multiple times. Example 1 PM, 1.30 PM, 2 PM. I wonder why that is so. Does that mean that tickets are limited ? entry is limited?
Not at all! We went here after our excursion got cancelled due to weather, and just walked up. You may get a deal by booking through the cruise line ahead of time, but sometimes they charge more, so I would recommend just walking up anyways.
There are some key updates you should know about, I made a version of this video for 2024 here: ruclips.net/video/GpvW3GOl99Y/видео.html

Thanks! I have an updated one with a few more clips on my new dedicated cruising channel. ruclips.net/video/GpvW3GOl99Y/видео.html
Thx I will be going to this port in December you gave great info I'll be visiting this
Happy to help! Be sure to subscribe to see more excursion videos from my upcoming cruises!
Great video, we went to Costa Maya and saw the bird exhibit, but didn't do it, but now next time I will!!
Thanks for the informative review!
It was actually a lot better than I expected!
I just got back and I loved this. It’s $14 per person now. Still no birds in that area. You can’t hold the birds anymore
Thanks for the updates! I cover some of the recent changes in my video I linked in the pinned comment.

Thank you for beautiful video. Makes me want to visit that place. What the hours of operation?
It's open pretty much all day. Google Maps says 6AM to 9PM.
Do remember the operating hours of this? We would love to go but have an excursion at 10:30. Might this be open at 8am when the ship docks?

What are the hours like? If we have a morning excursion can we come in the afternoon? Everything on the RC website says there’s nothing after 11am

Is there a cost for the little bowl of seed that you take in?

Can you buy tickets at the aviary itself? Or do the tickets have to be bought through your cruise line?
We bought ours right there! It was cheaper than what the cruise lines typically sell them for.

Tickets never seemed limited to me, they may have specific times just to help balance how many people are going through every hour.
Did you have to book ahead
