- In just 8 weeks, 18 orphans have found their ways to us at the Vervet Monkey Foundation, each with a unique story of resilience and survivals. These babies are counting on us for a second chance at life, they have overcome so much and we are on a mission to make sure they thrive.
The Vervet Forest is a wildlife documentary focused on the lives of the monkeys at the Vervet Monkey Foundation in South Africa . We join the orphaned and injured vervet monkeys in their adventure and struggles as they battle their way through the foster monkey mom program to become part of a monkey troop again. This channel is for those monkey lovers who enjoy monkeys living their lives as monkeys should.

I'm confused..once the babies find a foster mom, do they breast feed them? And if they do, How do they have milk if they didn't birth a baby?
Hi! There's an entire system of getting milk from what are known as feeding cages that have bottles of milk in them and are placed throughout the various troops. The bottles are cleaned and refilled a number of times throughout the day.
There are truly wonderful longer videos on the Vervet Monkey Foundation channel that show the Foundation and the entire process with each baby, from rescue to release into a troop, with a monkey foster mom. There are about six years worth of videos on the channel now and I highly recommend them!!
