Honor had a launch briefings a few days ago in Hk, they literally put the phone in the washing machine for 15 mins and it’s functioning well afterwards, insane
for anyone asking, global magic v3 works on all the usa carriers but is not sold in the US so you need to buy online and import it and then put your sim card in.
Hauwei did an outward folding phone Mate XS in 2020, it's 11mm, no gap while the Z fold 2 had a Huge gap and was about 16mm. Honor took that design as well. They really laid a great foundation with HONOR, wouldn't say they used to be a sub brand.
This thing is so thin it almost looks like magic. All we need is prices to come down to earth and I could see folding phones becoming the default eventually.
Nah.....there is too much innovation in its material engineering. why would you want it to be a lot cheaper ? US would impose tarrif if it is sold too cheap
I hate apple and I wish that was a true statement but unfortunately people will still buy apple. It would be more competition for them for sure because to me the software in the magic (and Chinese phones) looks like iOS to me. That's why I don't like them lol. I have a xaomi it's great but I hate the iOS looking software.
Just had mine, went from iPhone, Samsung Note 20 Ultra, Pixel fold, s24 and now honor V3. In UK, no charger but you do get a case and I'm very impressed so far, battery life incredible and screen lovely. I still had my s24 ultra as did O2 switch up, even both phones in case folded.... Just as thin as s24 ultra and super slim unfolded. Basically thickness of USBC. Can't wait to see where they're next phones go. Still prefer oneUI in Samsung but only miss DEX, nothing else. Can't get IR blaster to work either yet 👍 free case works really well as stand
I find it, like many others, genuinely difficult to choose between the Fold 6 and the V3. I’m coming from an iPhone 13 Pro Max, and the size of the iPhone bothers me as I don’t have large hands, but I don’t want to give up a larger smartphone display. That’s why the Fold 6 is quite appealing to me. After some analysis, I came up with the following comparison. The advantages of one device are often significant disadvantages of the competitor. It really comes down to which pros and cons matter more to you personally, in terms of which device would make you happier in the end. Samsung +Better-tuned camera photos +Longer-lasting battery despite technically smaller size +Better gaming performance despite using the same Snapdragon, but running about 4°C cooler at max temperature +The display dims less frequently under warm sunlight +Significantly better speakers (Especially important since, in my opinion, a tablet shouldn’t sound bad if you use it consistently) +More refined software features -Unfortunately, a more reflective screen -A significantly more noticeable crease -Worse low-light and zoom camera performance -Slower charging -Worse water resistance Honor +Thinner, but only without considering the camera bump +Less noticeable crease +Less reflective screen indoors +Faster-charging battery +Better water resistance +Super-fast charging -Photos often look strangely filtered/processed -Phone gets very hot under full load -Average gaming performance for the Gen 3 -Better display brightness, but barely visible outdoors and dims quickly under heat -Very disappointing speakers due to the thin design (Especially noticeable when coming from an iPhone Pro Max, which sounds even better than a Samsung S24 Ultra) -Somewhat uninspired and heavily Apple-inspired software Personal Preferences Slim vs. wider design Squared vs. rounded corners Feel free to share your thoughts! :)
As S24 Ultra owner, better speaker on Samsung device? Nah, not really. Samsung has always tuned their phones' speakers poorly so it has non-existant sub-low bass and too much emphasized highs in result. But can be improved with EQ because the speaker "itself" is very good even above Apple. Also, samsung has less size of vapor chamber and stupid game optimization system called "GOS". Higher gpu clock doesn't mean everything.
Go to near Samsung or Apple market rn, and compare between these phones by turning volume to max and listening to any songs. You will notice differences, the obsession about mid-high emphasis by Samsung. They are doing nonsence even they bought whole Harman and ruined AKG.
I switch to OnePlus open from 13 pro Max...and very happy....I was confused between fold 5 and open...fold has bad crease quality and also not reliable that's why I choose open. I also have note 20 ultra as secondary phone
the camera thing is just factually wrong. the v3 pics are way better! when it comes to battery, it's extremely close, but samsung has better optimization and smaller screens. the speakers are the same ( source: more than a 100 youtubers) and some say samsung is just slightly louder, nothing more. as a loyal samsung user ( have used samsung for the past 15 years) i had the chance between switching my zfold 3 to a zfold 6. i chose the V3 because there isn't really any comparison. samsung sadly becoming the Apple of android.
Thanks! What is the thickness of the phone when the cover is installed? Would you recommend buying the v3 or rather waiting for the oneplus open 2 to come in terms of software and cameras? And do you know if either of them will work with a stylus? Thanks a lot
Still very expensive. Honor in EU has £300 off right now which makes it a better price. And they throwing in the watch, earbuds and charger (plus screen protection for 6 months) so i jumped on board and ordered for £1399
V3 has wireless charging. Other than that they're pretty much identical from the phone design to power and screen capabilities. I am personally going for OP Open Apex now that it's on discounted prices. I do wish it had wireless but I don't really use it much anyway so it's all good.
Tim, removing the screen protector is so cringey. There are so few people now doing that precisely because we all know that it is there to protect the phone. So why remove it even for the sake of making this video? For me, removing it at the unboxing dis-HONOR (brand promotion intended) the engineering and production teams for their efforts. I think it wouldn't hurt your viewership if you'll keep it on. I'm sorry for this "negative" feedback if you see it that way.
It is sexy alright. How many average Americans who make $100k plus a year could afford one or two? Now some people argue $100K plus a year is not an average. Ok, $50k? who among them could afford one? I think it is like a Corvette, sexy and nice to look at but you end up buy a four door sedan or a truck.
I'm loving my Z Fold 5 but Samsung has got to step it up. Faster charging and a power brick in the box is a simple tweak that should've been done for the latest Fold 6, then they can start making it thinner and less weight.
Well, this is very impressive but I don't think foldable phones are that necessary. I will buy a phone and tablet or ipad instead. But anyway, Honour is doing really cool staffs.

Google you can buy this and get it in the US. Works on US carriers. Only downside is warranty with the company's importing them are covering them for a year.
As soon as the Chinese do not give at least seven years of Android updates, I will, unfortunately, keep my Samsung. However, the software support update is very important, especially if it is very expensive.
Weird nitpick. Nobody will own a device for more than 4 years --if even that. Let's face it, you're gonna be looking for new products within 6 months of getting your current phone.
I’m blown away with the tech they packed into that phone and the design is just chef’s kiss
I see the full package in other video they give him a ring, a watch, a penny, a Bluetooth speakers also a stand for car anlso a big other case 😅😅😅😅
