- This is the original 1990 Bee Gees VH1 to One TV Special, that aired during the VH1 Bee Gees Day. I pulled this off of a VHS tape, that I recorded myself on that day.
The Special includes interviews from all 3 brothers and music clips. It goes through their career, from their start in Australia, though the 60s & 70s, up until the One album. They also talk about how they were told to give up and the process of music writing.
I have not come across this Special anywhere else. It contains some interesting insight, from the time.

The more I learn about the BeeGees the more I admire and respect each of them as kind,good and decent people who were given a gift and worked very very hard to turn it into music that moved us to tears, other times it energized us to where we couldn't NOT dance! Their gift was not only the end result being the music but it was also a gift that could inspire a whole range of feelings in ys. Robin had that special ability, that pathos, that could actually make some of us teary-eyed. Morris and Barry had powerful tenor voices such as in LONLEY DAYS where, if you are a woman, could stir something deep inside. Can you imagine having that kind of power over millions! Yet, they all managed to remain relatively authentic. God bless you Barry for being such a good and loving husband and father to Linda over 53 years of marriage and father and grandfather to your brood❤❤❤Prayers are with you for your health and happiness! I can listen to them talk about their careers all day. I am in awe of their talent. Sometimes when I’m listening to one of their albums it makes me sad that they all went through so much tragedy along with the success. What was done to them by the radio Disc jockeys back in the 70s was such a terrible thing when people started hating disco music. I never understood why that was happening (at the time). When I watch films and listen to how close the guys were as kids growing up it makes me sad to think they were at odds with each other so many times. However From listening to Barry speak you just know they loved each other, that’s why they became so successful. They all had very good sense of humors, in so many interviews I laughed so much at their antics. I love that they were all very family oriented. Good Dads and husbands.
Diane, I think certain rock groups may have been jealous they couldn't break through the BeeGees wall of success.

The Bee Gees had something no other group had ...magical harmonies grouped with superb songwriting skills. So much talent in one family. I miss them!

This was great--had never seen this one before. I'm glad each brother was interviewed separately so they all had a chance to talk. Barry always talked the most and answered all the questions when it was a group interview. I was surprised by Barry's honesty and candidness when he admitted that he always dominated and was in control over Robin and Maurice. He knew they didn't like for him to dominate them, and as the eldest, he, naturally did that. I'm glad he admitted he had to learn to stop it, even though it seems he did continue dominating the group interviews. Old habits are hard to break but I love all of the Bee Gees, but my heart leans towards Robin more. I cannot get that magnificent voice of his out of my head!
Loved what you said Marie especially about Robin. He was my favorite too. Although it took them together to make the harmonies sound spectacular. I do wish Robin got more of the credit.

Totally agree !!! Barry were "the Big brother" , but 3 years are NOTHING... He was the sex symbol and he was really prefered by producers!! Robin had reason!!! And Mo says him, " don't interrompt me"...and Barry says : oh, sorry " and Mo repeat.. :not now, EVER You interrompt us"...I think that Linda was the control and the passional love that contains Barry front the women and the drugs.... Without Linda, ever with him, I don't know how had be Barry .. he says it! But My sweet Robin hasn't the same fortune with Molly...And Mo with Lulú ...mmmhhh... ROBIN IS MY FAVOURITE BG..!! This was really good. It showed Barry in a new light, but it also reinforced things I already knew. Oh, how I love Barry! And his wisdom. And his good character.

We love our BeeGees.
They were never a disco band and I think they hated being categorized as such. They just happened to make 5 records that was put as the Soundtrack for SNF because of Robert Stigwood.
They have said during many interviews that they were swept into disco because their songs were used for SNF. What I found really interesting is they already had some songs written and taped when Stigwood called because they were working on an album. And as fate would have it, Stigwood liked several of them for SNF.
You're right. Those songs were written before the movie ever came out they were considered r&b never Disco they were labeled Disco because of the movie. It was a horrible thing the Bee Gees had to go through because of that it was so unfair they did nothing wrong.
I know exactly what they mean as a mother of 4 sons the brother bond is as strong as its weak. They were still amazing i absolutely adore them all only my favourite was always Robin, simply because his voice used to melt my heart and soul ❤❤

What a blessing to have lived with their beginning in the late 60's through the TIWICI project. I always looked with anticipation towards their next album. Now, their catalog is within a moment from experiencing....my how time has changed things. Huge influences in my life...even to this day!

Elder Gibb was the driving machine. A studio-workaholic. Took himself and his brothers (lateron Andy included) to fame. Would be interesting to know, what would have been with his younger brothers, not having him at the race.
