I watched it for the story, but I'll stick around for more Star Trucker.
You're the first person I've come across who isn't timid about debris, drives fast enough to get everywhere in a hurry, isn't running it as a livestream where you're wasting time chatting with fans instead of driving, and on top of all of that, showed off all the cool places the game has to offer for those of us who don't have the rigs to run it.
Not to mention, well, you did a good job mixing in normal jobs, side jobs, salvage grabbing, and some really meaty crashes along the way.
Honestly, something I wouldn't mind seeing as "challenges outside the achievements," well... "How far can you go without making use of your unlocks."
Meaning... Can you navigate the Mineral Colonies without any shock pods, the Solar Territories without ever dropping your shutters, the Enigma Systems without using the scanners, and hauling contraband without storing it in the secret compartment. Obviously, use them if you have to to complete side jobs (if you try this in another playthrough), but for normal freight hauls, you have to fly it as if you have the original truck.
I'd be fine with that running in another difficulty mode (Probably _not_ Hardcore - though you did mention an idea similar in here for it, so maybe it could still work...) so that we can see how much harder the game is if someone is... say... unfortunate enough to pop all of their shock pods and doesn't have a spare, or to see if it's possible to crank the air conditioning hard enough to just leave the shutters open when driving through a solar flare.

Thank you so much for that comprehensive comment, can’t thank you enough for sticking with it and watching! Very kind words 👍.
I will be doing a hardcore run but episodes won’t be as frequent for that. This one I want to get achievements but will probably do stuff outside of recordings due to the grind for rank now.
Interesting challenges though! I will have a think about what I can do for them 👍.
Thank you again for the comment buddy!

@@Atova You made it exciting to watch at a time when everyone else was complaining that it was super hard.
You seemed to get it right away "This isn't Euro Truck Simulator in Space," you realized that batteries and air filters and chips were the things you'd have to spend money on. Every game has a "gold sink." In Euro truck or American Truck Sim, that "gold sink" is buying new trucks, bigger garages, hiring drivers, and running a freight company. In Star Trucker, the "gold sink" is keeping your rig in peak condition.
Ironically, I've seen it and thought, "You know, this could be really great with the truck's needs toned down just a little, but also adding in the need to eat, drink, and sleep. Allow players to automatically "eat at the station" for 30 in game minutes to both pass time and replenish food and drink, but it'd also give those energy drinks and meal packs a reason to exist beyond being trade goods. Rip open a carton of meal packs and you've got, say, 16 full meals ready to go... And ready to go floating around your cabin the moment you lose gravity. Thirsty and a little tired, but you've got one jumpgate left to go to your destination? Knock back an energy drink. Keep an energy cell and a chip handy to keep your water condenser and purifier online, or you might have to rely on station hopping to keep going. Remember to sleep, or you might pass out on the road at full throttle and then who knows where you'll end up... or what you'd crash into.
I know it wouldn't be the sort of game for everyone, but they already have a custom difficulty mode - Allow players to turn off food, sleep, and hunger if they want to... But keep the idea of "messy cabin cargo."
Seriously, it'd be awesome to see a container of meal packs break open because the container's health went to zero, and now there's 16 meal packs loose in your ship. Or cans of energy drinks or beer unleashing volleys of liquid (requiring cleaning supplies to wipe up) when damaged that aren't so bad when the gravity's on... But lose gravity and hit the brakes, all those droplets are now all over your windscreen, making it hard to _see_ out of your cab.

@@DakalaShade I love the idea of having to eat and rest, first thing I suggested to the devs was making the bed available. Getting tired after so many hours would be cool too.
Feel like this game has legs and this is a great start, hope they keep adding to it!

Convoy song should have added to radio for this mission!

I think there was a missed song opportunity, they could have played a custom variant of “convoy” that could have played right after the phrase “looks like we got us a convoy” or at least the main chorus of it. Not sure if they could have got the rights to the song though.

Hey! I think tomorrow it's coming out, I have been focusing on finishing ST story this week so havent played much of PD. I have one episode recorded for tomorrow and I should be able to record more on Sunday/Monday night for the next. If I record Sunday I will try to release it that night. Thanks for watching!

That’s a big everything load. Width, weight. Any bigger and you’d need an extra rig or two to haul that.
Would make a good co-op quest, actually

So what exactly is the difference between recommended and hardcore?

    • @Atova
      @Atova  3 месяца назад

Batteries and air filters lower faster, I imagine damage is higher if hitting debris, higher prices, lower paying jobs. Not totally sure yet as haven’t done hardcore yet
