These guys are always wonderful together. Very proud to say Frank is my guitar teacher. I only wish I reflected it better. Both Frank and Martin are great teachers.
Frank swings ferociously. Martin, a more diffident, polite type swings warmly. Both are amazing. Further, they are so seemless in tone, and in switching from lead to accompnaying, that If I couldn't see them ,I'd have a hard time picking out which was playing lead at a particular time. (Frank does play more rhythm chord background). While I am always reluctant to comment on appearance (I myself look like a dissolute sea captain) Martin's eyeglasses give him an owlish aspect. ;)
They've been playing these tunes for a very long time and have such command of the fretboard and chord/scale relationships that it just comes out. Every bit of this is improvised including the chord subs against the original harmony. I take lessons from Frank so I have some insight into his approach to the instrument and music.
I’ve been “attempting” jazz guitar for 17 years. These guys have been playing these old standards longer than I’ve been alive (I’m 43). I would guess over 100k hours of practice, and literally years on stage.

Thanks for watching Seokmin!
How do these guys remember all that from memory ? Off the sheet ! Wonderful technique and in sync.
Well, most of it is improvised, so they just have to remember the chords and melodies. But they are on a level of their own as players.

@@crazyb3fan You are one lucky guy. On-line lessons I presume.

What are the archtops the masters are playing? Great sounding both acoustically. This is important for a solid- woods archtop with a suspended pickup.
What is that 1st song?
That put SUCH a smile on my face!!! BTW are those Austrian Audio mics? Such a beautiful recording.
They are AKG 214s! Thanks for watching and your kind words!

Martin sounded better playing that Yamaha with the built in humbuckers way back. Not keen on this guitar.
It seems to me that Martin Taylor is extremely proficient, but I'm sorry. I find him a chore to listen to.
