Nice. I haven't tried slugs yet. I can't get my hands on that Federal buckshot yet. Not best home defense gun, but i'll tell you that I can't imagine worse for a carjacker than a few shots of these from a couple feet. Short barrel, low-ish recoil puts a lot of holes in something close.
The 45 Long Colt I have shot out of this was relatively mild on recoil, the 45ACP has a weird feel and sound to it. I did shoot some 45acp out of this in another video, you should check it out.. It has a weird sound because there is about 2" of free bore before the bullet engages the rifling.
I think it should be stressed that for a handgun, that 4 pellet buckshot it VERY unique. If you watch the gel tests, those pellets are putting put 38 special performance, or better in some cases. That's a hell of an argument to fire four .38 specials PER TRIGGER PULL. That's essentially a firing squad every time and a cylinder dump at close range? lol
Yeah the 4 pellet 000 Buckshot is some good stuff. I just started reloading, and that is what I plan to load a lot of my .410 2 1/2” shells with. I can get about 170 reloads out of one 5lb box of 000 buckshot
I have in other videos- when I’m at my rifle range it’s not always easy jumping over the shooting bench to get more videos. I’ll do another one soon- I did take another video with my Stevens 301 and the governor shooting at bottles- I will say birdshot is terrible out of the Governor-buckshot and slugs are decent, and plenty accurate
I grabbed a ton from, errr a big box store :) for cheap money. The self defense loads I was shooting in this video were $5 a box on clearance from the errr big box store
I think testing with a chronograp is mostly silly. I suppose if you are doing extensive Paul Harrell testing it is fine to do (and making that kind of money to pay for the thing!), but even then, how many times does he say "is there enough of a diference to make a difference?" and of the times there is a difference that makes a difference, how likely are you to either 1.) want to buy what the higher difference rounds are or 2.) be able to find them anyway I say meh! to getting a chronograph and doing that sort of testing, just a waste shoot and have fun, if a bullet feels slow when it comes out of a firearm, tell us! (hahah!)
Chrono’s are cool, a lot of people get hung up on velocity… I’m more concerned about for it cycle reliably? Whether or not you get full expansion doesn’t matter if you can’t cycle it in a gun…
This one is sexy and vicious at the same time..Mine goes out with 3 of the Federal 000 followed by 3 .45 Colt...Very concealable, believe it or not, and very safe..
@@tophat2002 waterproof isn't really a good way to describe the gun... It has scandiaum parts, Stainless steel parts, and probably some small steel parts inside... So if you leave it submerged in water it will get some internal rust and lock up eventually, or at least need attention. If it gets wet, and you later clean and oil it, it will be less susceptible to rust than a blued revolver. The Ammo is not 100% waterproof either though. Typically shotshells are not made to be 100% waterproof, though they will usually work if they get splashed. Again, the question is a bit odd.. You ask if watches are waterproof, or matches.. things that you think could be submerged and still expected to work. Guns usually do not get submerged. Will the makeup of the parts in the gun led them to being less susceptible to rust should the gun accidentally get wet or be exposed to sweat when carrying? yes.
@@tophat2002 it would be fine as long as you plan to dry it out, clean it and lube it later. I looked online, scandium does not rust because it has no iron in it. It can oxidize like aluminum because it is an aluminum alloy, but like I said there are other parts in the gun that are susceptible to some rust- if you plan to clean it and oil it within a few days I’m sure it will be fine. I think you can treat it the same as you would as a stainless revolver because the same parts are susceptible to rust.
1600-1800 fps slugs out of a ultralight revolver is similar to a much larger bore revolver man. Try it side by side then tell me. They have more recoil than a .357 magnum out of a Ruger SP101 snub nose I can tell you that.

I agree with you on that! It’s definitely not the best choice, but it packs a wallop and I would not want to be on the business end of it!!
Your Elmer Fudd hat rocks hard!
Thanks lol 🤣🤣🤣
Cool, much more compact than the Mossberg Home security shotgun. I like the 45LC and ACP options in your choice.
👍
It’s a great gun, packs a punch for sure!

DEER HUNTER
The rating of 1830 FPS is probably with a much longer barrel.
I’m sure it is, but there’s a lot of powder behind this round
1,830 FPS still describes it well. If I know anything, I know that losing lots of velocity due to a short barrel never means you lose any recoil lol.
@@GunSam yet, powder still is there and has to burn!
? Not going to show the grouping?

wish I'd gotten .410 slugs and buckshot way back when, /sigh
never even considered it only ever did skeet shooting so used birdshot and...now.../sigh

I wouldn't use slugs in your home
I wouldn’t typically, but if it’s all you have, you need to make sure your gun runs with them
Recoil and 410 should not be used in the same sentence.....comparing it to a 44 magnum? Are you serious? Come on Man....
