Your customer got very lucky with the grades on those bust coins. I would have bagged both of them :-) especially the quarter. I'm very shocked that actually graded. Awesome video as always.

I at one time had started a collection of 2 1/2 indians. Despite their small size they are incredibly beautiful. Those two you showed were very nice. I no longer collect them, but they will always be eye candy to me.
That draped bust is a pretty one for sure. Those uneven/half flat strikes are so super common on those old coins, unfortunately. This was a pretty nice grouping. Glad to see that you got a star on that Morgan. Thanks for sharing!

3:07 - I think NGC missed on that capped bust half. Even before I saw it had the trace luster I had that as XF40. You can just see it has XF qualities . The fields are smooth and if you have an eye for coins, you can just see exactly as you said, you got the mail on the head. Strike related soft spots … I’d resubmit that little lady
Love your videos, and don't take this the wrong way but you may want to put a diffuser in front of your ring light. It would minimize the glare on the capsules.
Hi, Ben. On the 80S Morgan, I can't see giving it a gem grade with all the dings and marks in the field. Nice toning on the 83 Morgan. I like the 84 better also. *TYU*
Those Morgans...were beautiful! My question is on that 80 S that received a 5 grade: I thought that that coin was a potential "details" due to that large rough (dark patch) on Liberty's lower cheek. Is there anything that could explain (why they overlooked that dark patch; as to me, it seems like that was "played with" to potentially hide something years ago)? Thank you.
So I have been on a woody kick and I bough a 1908 S Indian head today with strong improper alloy mix in a band right across liberty in the head band. It was labeled and a Fine the coins strike in every section is strong except where the alloy mix is off. So the hair detail is great the fathers neck and reverse are all great strike its just where that band is that is weak is that from the alloy mixing wrong.
Man power is to blame on the 1807 half dollar since that is all there was to strike those very early coins but also on the 1836 half not only man power was to be an issue but it appears that grease may have been in the motto above the eagle...👍
NGC Bought by Wall Street Banksters Blackstone, not so happy about that. Now they can request Ratings on their coins from NGC and get it, not quite the fair business model, if you know what I mean.
Obviously you need to sell your coins to someone you trust for 1 cent. Get them straight graded, then buy them back for 1 cent. That should get around your issues. 🤣
NGC has been sold to Coldwater so lets see what comes of it But It will not end well just like PCGS selling. Bad is not here but its coming soon U watch.
Ben do you remember me showing you my 1805 B1 25C ? they gave it a F15 grade and you agreed with me they undegraded it and if you remember my 25C had a lot more detail and better strike and I got F15 but has the look of a VF25 maybe 30 LOL I'm starting to think they really don't know how to grade these multi die coins and Wonder I should Just crack it out and put it in a slab holder holder grade it myself at this point. here is a link to heritage if anyone else thinks I got screwed. coins.ha.com/itm/a/1273-7244.s

Love gold coins just picked up an AU 53 1834 classic head half eagle plain 4 and an 1854 au 55 eagle.

There’s something like 27 big name coin channels on RUclips. It’s more effort than it’s worth, considering it’s so easy to spot fake slabbed coins.

Does your "luster rule" apply to gold equally?
