Same! And I swear it looks like he was just having a helluva fun time making it! I met him once and got his autograph. He was so nice, so warm, so sweet...he is exactly who you hoped he would be. Bless his memory.
The Giant Spider Invasion was made with a $300,000.00 budget which explains why they couldn't afford to provide the Skipper with an undershirt. The budget for special effects was only $10,000.00. The scene where a giant spider was going through the middle of town is classic. They covered a Volkswagen Beetle with fur and put 8 legs on it. Then they drove it backwards so they could use the taillights as eyes. Despite the low budget and campiness this movie netted $15 million. Not bad, Skipper. Ginger Grant also made a scary movie the same year. The Stepford Wives. It was a much better movie, but she can't draw them in like the skipper. It only netted $4 million.
Here's a fun fact! Steve Brodie, Barbara Hale, Robert Easton, Leslie Parrish, Alan Hale jr and Bill Williams all starred on Perry Mason. Barbara was one of the main characters on Perry Mason. She played Della Street. That's amazing!
Love Creature Features. Watch a movie almost every night. Brings back the good memories of me and my little brother staying up late watching these movies back in the day. The cheesier they are the better.
I went to see this when I was 4. My brother kept scaring the hell out of me saying I "have a spider on my shoulder". Many screams and crying ensued as my brother laughed his ass off! 😂
love the vintage weird science fiction/alien movies. For many years been looking for a movie that has these ant like aliens that have human-ish faces and they are super intelligent...
They should have just called this movie "My little buddy, and the Spider Invasion" since they used that line twice from two different people, one obviously from Hale's character (referenced to Gilligan's Island), and from a different actor. The line makes an excellent title drop!
Imagine spending extra money to get a movie for your RUclips audience and then someone decides to be a jerk and reports it over one scene. Some people have no respect
Wow! I remember seing this at a drive in in 1975. Scared the hell out of my dad. He was always afraid of spiders. Lol. I was 5 years old at the time and I should've been the one who was scared. Lol! Good memories and great times. Me and my dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins used to all go together in separate cars. Us kids would go play on the playground. They piped the sound out to the playground that had some small bleachers to the side. That way parents could hear the movie while they watched their kids. Nobody was watching us. I guess thats why we had so much fun.
Barbara Hale was an American actress who portrayed legal secretary Della Street in the dramatic television series Perry Mason, earning her a 1959 Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She reprised the role in 30 Perry Mason made-for-television movies
The bar owner/bartender is Allen Hale, Jr's father, Alan Hale, Sr. He looks pretty good at eighty years of age, which he was during the filming of this movie.
In 1977 I was 12 years old and I took a girl to see a double feature. Invasion of the Giant Spiders and Godzilla vs Mothra. I could not sit through this movie because I was deathly afraid of spiders!
GIANT! SPIDER! .... INVASION! Bring it on! Myself and Gertrude won't miss this treat! We'll be joined by Claire and Chris (Redfield) - my two pet tarantulas :) We're scared already!
This was billed in the metropolitan papers' classifieds as cinema fare in mid-1976. But I didn't see it in the cinema until two and a half yeas later, and then in my backwater home town. And, perchance, my cinema patronage ended simultaneously with the end of the 1970s.
1:26:40 - The scariest scene in this entire film! The only time my skin was seriously crawling during this film... Did he just panic MORE at the sight of a regular spider in his car...over the GIANT spider trying to EAT his car?! And how long does it take a grown man to break through a window? 1:28:52 - Does everyone have alien-spider meteors lying around their bedroom or is it just her?
Because it was really about a carrier pigeon that landed on the island which they hoped would be able to carry a message back to its owner about their being shipwrecked.
This is the movie that made me a fan of Creature Features. The movie is a hot mess - just what I needed for a Saturday night. The guest segments were the perfect length - entertaining, but not so long to take us away from the movie. I have subscribed, and becoming a Patreon supporter.
Nothing like being a couple of 50 year old burnt out punk rockers who never made it big, trying to still rock out with a giant beer belly. But i love this channel
I'd have never thought that "alien-meteor spiders" would look so much like regular Earth Tarantulas... That's a bit unnerving. It raises more questions than it answers. How'd they even get in those meteors in the first place...? Unless...someone...PUT them in there...hmmm...
Imagine seeing that spider on a field just sitting there and your thinking to your self is it suddenly going to start running. just like the shit that would be running down my trouser leg
i remember this as a kid watching it at a drive in theatre in aspley qld, fukin scared the shit outta me hahahahah, bloody big ass spiders hahah thanks for the memories
Leslie Parrish, hubba hubba! What an absolute _goddess._ I'll bet she's still beautiful at 86. Some people just never lose that, and she seems like the type. She has that facial structure. ------ This movie is just so much *fun!* Imagine going up against _Jaws,_ which was released the same summer of '75. But believe it or not, this modest shoestring-budget film was, in fact, hugely successful. It made many times its budget at the box office, and Hollywood loves that. I remember seeing this on MST3K, but didn't realize, until reading the Trivia section at IMDb, that Michael Nelson and Kevin Murphy actually _admired_ director Bill Rabane for what he achieved with so little money. That's pretty cool!
Wow you all looks great here two years ago, Tangela is beautiful in black gothic dress and her makeup is nice ! Of course now you are all still looking good just keep it up 👍 don’t leave RUclips please ❤ 🙏
Gilligan's Island actually did have an episode that had a giant spider in it that had some of the Castaways trapped in a cave and Gilligan saved the day again!
G'day from Croatia, thank you very much Vinny, Mr Livingston and of course the beautiful Tangella. Your film's bring back so many fond memories of the 60's and 70's, the fashion, gas guzzling V8's and fantastic special affects. 👍
I guess we now know why Tangella was taking her pet spider for a walk a couple of weeks ago. She was bringing him into the mansion before the winter cold could freeze him. Sorry about poor Andrew though.
the fact that Alan Hale Jr.s first line in the film is "Hi Little Buddy" is enough to hook me for 2 hours
Same! And I swear it looks like he was just having a helluva fun time making it! I met him once and got his autograph. He was so nice, so warm, so sweet...he is exactly who you hoped he would be. Bless his memory.
I think the Sheriff saw that on a TV show.
no doubt Gilligan's Island repeat lol

I love the undershirt reference 🤣🤣🤣
I bet you love ❤️ that reference 🤔🤔
😂😂😂great facts!!! Thanks!!!
These old low budget movies are better than what they make today, by far! Keep them coming....👍🍻
Absolutely!!! 👍👍I hate cgi

Bill Rebane, giant spiders, Alan Hale jr., Wisconsin, rotascope....This gem has all the ingredients for a most awesome experience!

The cheesier they are the better.
Thanks for all these eclectic "B films". Enjoy your intros and discussions as well. Keep up the good work.
I love that our heroes in this movie are a couple of old duffers. It gives me hope!
I rather have them than you and that’s saying something about you 🤔🤔🤔
I went to see this when I was 4. My brother kept scaring the hell out of me saying I "have a spider on my shoulder". Many screams and crying ensued as my brother laughed his ass off! 😂
Thank you for showing the credits at a regular speed. I always stay to the end of your show because of that.
Love the show. Good to see Cathy and Zetro again. I liked Barbara Hale in this film. She held her script well.
At 8:54, a wonderful head nod to Gilligan's Island. Nicely done.
not ONLY did the spider die, but MOST of the acting careers of the people in the movie!
Grade D movie, and loved every minute of it. Pretty ladies, killer critters, outer space connection and the Skipper? Super fun.
Motorcycle falls over and explodes worse than a Ford Pinto Rumor. LOL love this one!
AWESOME !!! Two fantastic movies for Friday and Saturday this week !! 😍👍😍
love the vintage weird science fiction/alien movies. For many years been looking for a movie that has these ant like aliens that have human-ish faces and they are super intelligent...
That sounds amazing!
Sounds similar to Mimic.
My son and I loved this movie!!
Vincent, Mr. Livingston, Tangella and Poor Long-Suffering Andrew = a sitcom within a movie. 😂 Luv it.
Seen a fireball meteor this morning 6:08, 19/11/22 over the valley northwest of Sacramento🌠🕷
Barely survived last giant spider invasion in '97!
Looking forward to this one since RUclips decided to take down tonight's running of Body Bags 🙄
I knew,that i recognized Exodus'singer's voice. Thanx4that Nfo.!
I was 15 in 1975 when this movie came out. Brings back so many memories. LOVE IT!!!!!
as a kid watched movies like this on a sat on the local tv station . such fun back then
This channel has got me watching movies again...I love the atmospherics ❤️❤️❤️❤️🤪🤪🤪
This is my kind of horror movie. Saturday can't come soon enough.
I was14 when I first seen this movie. This is my second time. Thank you Creature Features.
Glad Tangella is wearing new clothes. She definitely needed an update on her wardrobe. ❤😾
What a great movie and cast. I love the older movies. And with you 3 it's always fun. Thank you.🙂👍
I was waiting for the skipper ( Alan Hale) to hit one of the spiders with his hat.
Loved the retro 70's style clothing and of course those cool tarantulas...I touched one as a kid and fell in love with them! 🕷🕸
Fun, cheesy spider movie. Awesome guests. Great to see Zetro on your show!
Creature features perfect for this cold wet gloomy English November afternoon, thank you. 👍👍👍👊✌️🇬🇧🌍.
Thanks Creature Features, really enjoying the show!

Saw this at the Green Hills Drive-In in between Hayesville & Carthage TN when I was 6
Darn RUclips just made me mad. Watching "Body Bags" and the movie got nuked by youTube. That was mean !!! Tangella should pay them a visit.
@Stan Bodle I have been watching old movies for years on the internet.
Hey Guys, great show! The scientist woman was the actress who played Perry Mason's secretary. Star studded!
YES!! I noticed her right away
Apparently some lowlife decided to report your showing of Body Bags and RUclips pulled it.
And wasn’t that just mature?
Imagine spending extra money to get a movie for your RUclips audience and then someone decides to be a jerk and reports it over one scene. Some people have no respect
This was so much fun to watch, and participating in the live chat is always the best! Everyone there's just great! Love da Creature Features!
As a kid in the 70’s I was sure I was going to end up in quicksand, covered in tarantulas, or lost in the Bermuda Triangle
Yeah all that and disco as well! The 70's were wild!
You're a beauty!🌹😜
Yes!! Lol me too
No kidding. Us 70s kids took everything so literal and so serious. Lol!
Thanks for the awesome sauce movie! God bless us all AMEN!

What could have happened in that poor woman's life to have driven her to this! "Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
@@garyabbott3861 I thought she did a great job and probably had fun

The bar owner/bartender is Allen Hale, Jr's father, Alan Hale, Sr. He looks pretty good at eighty years of age, which he was during the filming of this movie.
I guess he can't stop saying. "Little Buddy!"
Oh yes, for this one just sit back & enjoy the experience...?
They got the fangs right! That's really impressive!
In 1977 I was 12 years old and I took a girl to see a double feature.
Invasion of the Giant Spiders and Godzilla vs Mothra. I could not sit through this movie because I was deathly afraid of spiders!
Alan Hale called Barney Fife little buddy in a 1962 episode of the Andy Griffith Show 😊. Y’all take care and God bless!
I hope RUclips doesn't take this film off the air. Friday night's film body bags was removed. 🇺🇸
That was the last movie I watched with my old pug before she passed ....😞 I wish it had been a happier movie 😞 I miss her so much
We saw you with Testament, and Death Angel.
Great show, Thanks!
I love this movie. It's good to see Alan Hale Sr. & Jr. in this movie.
MST3K did this movie. It’s hard to watch it without them.
Can't wait.
Vance, can't we built a 100 foot shoe and drop it on the 50 foot spider? 🥾🕷
🤭
Good to see Barbara Hale. We have a Della Street in Bisbee, Arizona. Only us oldtimers get a chuckle when we see it.

How did he make it back from Gilligans Island?
There was a movie, rescue from Gilligan's Island lol
And remember, the Gilligan episode "The Pigeon" does feature a giant spider. A coincidence? Duh-duh-duhhh!
@@troyhickman4904 why wasn't the episode called "The Giant Spider"?
Because it was really about a carrier pigeon that landed on the island which they hoped would be able to carry a message back to its owner about their being shipwrecked.

I can't help but think of MST3K'S riff " It's a giant spider invasion of savings at Menards!" Lol

@HO-bndk don't care. That makes her hotter actually.
Actually, it's The Giant Volkswagen in a Spider Outfit Invasion. 😂
Yeah, but it's the most realistic VW turned spider we've ever seen!
Damn....Volkswagens are pretty reliable. That's tough for the townsfolk .
On the plus side, it means that four guys can pick up the giant spider and move it somewhere as a prank...
FYI. The "skipper" also appeared in the Andy Griffith show in which he also referred to Barney Fife as "little buddy."
