Thank you for this refreshing presentation of why Jesus really came to humanity! The commercialization of Christmas by all our churches has festered in my bones like a disease. This video brought healing to me! Praise the Lord!

Wow, nothing touched me like that Poem for quite a while.Truly awesome. Thank you so much for sharing. Or better, I'll never want to stop being touched and amazed by God's way of choosing a child's birth to bring end to the deathbringing rulership of that Dragon. All Glory to HIM.

    Really great idea!
However, it would make sense to explain that Adam invited the dragon in, and that death, disease, and suffering are God's judgement on that rebellion

having now seen at least the start of the trailer for the referenced Lewis/Waitrose, it occurs to me that the popular culture stands the figure of the dragon on its head, making the dragon some cute little lovable creature, only dangerous by (enthusiastic) mistake. How different than St. George ... I'm getting on in years, do they still deal with him in education before someone takes a course in the development of legend at college?

Not sure St George is taught that much in schools these days. Interesting that in modern tellings of fairytales the big bad wolf gets invited inside by the little pigs and decides to change his ways. Much modern storytelling has evil pacified by not judged.

I think you may have misunderstood the dragon reference. If you have only seen the start of the trailer you should watch and listen to the rest. I think the dragon represents all the evils, problems and difficulties in the world and Jesus comes to earth as the knight prepared to slay the "dragon". The dragon is not represented as cute and lovable at all.

That was my thought - that dragons have been cloaked in sweetness much like a wolf in sheep's clothing. So, too, has sin. Not coincidental. How can one - whether an individual or a society - be made right when there is no wrong? Without a dragon there is no need for a nativity.

Terrific. Just in case it's of interest and along a similar line ... I tried preaching on Revelation 12 on Christmas Day last year. In case it helps your thinking - Here's the link. www.villagechurch.sydney/sermons/the-why-of-christmas-dominic-steele-revelation-12-25-december-2018

Very ambitious! It is a different slant on the traditional Christmas story.
