Well that looks tremendously dangerous. EDIT: upon rewatching this I'm very surprised these people aren't dead, this has to be the most dangerous sport in the world. One wrong move, 1 equipment failure and you're done.
There's a reason why the Chamonix valley is informally known as "The Death-Sports Capitol of the World". As others have said, equipment failures are probably rare with this sort of setup (unless you count things like your parachute "failing" when you cut it too close and shred it on a rockpile).
What are you talking about? Its the safest extreme sport out there. If his parachute fails he still has skis, If his skis fail he still has a parachute.

Equipment failures are almost never the cause of accidents in this sport. Base jumpin more dangerous tho
