- Hotel Giri Manjas is obviously familiar among Mangalureans, and fish lovers from elsewhere in the world, as when they head to Mangaluru, Giri Manjas is a must visit place, recommended by friends and family and Mangalurueans on the street! For it has the most lip-smacking sea food on its menu and in its plates!
Best known for its Tawa fry, Giri Manja's has always seen bustling with people, many of whom arrive in their swanky cars in the crowded Car Street area to take partake of their favorite fish dish or order some take away! ,
The hotel, formerly a house, has two long tables lining either side of the front room and can seat around 30 people at a time. The use of fresh fish and the love with which they serve their food has contributed to its success. People coming here, say they love the homely ambiance and being able to chat with those seated with them while enjoying their meal.
೧೯೮೩ ರಲ್ಲಿ ದಿವಂಗತ ಗಿರಿಧರ್ ಪೈಗಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದ ಈ ಹೋಟೆಲ್ ಅಂಜಲ್ ತವಾ ಫ್ರೈ ಗೆ ತುಂಬಾನೇ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ. ಇವರ ಅಳಿಯ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ ಪೈ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದ್ದೆ ತವಾ ಫ್ರೈ ಅನ್ನೋ ಹೊಸ ಖಾದ್ಯ . ಆದ್ದರಿಂದಲೇ ಈ ಹೋಟೆಲ್ ನ ಹೆಸರು ಗಿರಿ ಮಂಜಾಸ್ ಅಂತಾನೆ ಮನೆ ಮಾತಾಗಿದೆ.
ಸತತ ಮೂರು ದಶಕಗಳಿಂದ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಈ ಹೋಟೆಲ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬಗೆಯ ಮೀನುಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಅದರ ಫ್ರೈಗಳು ಸವಿಯಲು ಸಿಗುತ್ತೆ.
ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಪುನರ್ಪುಳಿಯ ರಸಂ ಆಹಾ! ಅದ್ಭುತ. 70ರ ದಶಕದ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸುವಂತಿರುವ ಈ ಹೋಟೆಲ್ ನ ವಾತಾವರಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೀನಿನ ಊಟ ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೆಲ್ಲೂ ಸಿಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಪ್ರಪಂಚದ ಮೂಲೆಮೂಲೆಗಳಿಂದ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರು ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಶೈಲಿಯ ತವಾ ಫ್ರೈ ಅನ್ನು ಆಸ್ವಾದಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ

When I saw a youtube video I was so exited and wanted to visit once. I managed to visit once with one of my friend convincing him that it is a very famous restaurant for fish lovers. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the cold food and with lot of masala. I didn't like at all. I told my friend that it looks very nice only in RUclips video and my wife cooks better than this. I just came here to try the food and I was looking for a partner to visit the restaurant.
We had ordered muri meen and prawns tawa fry. It was almost a chilly gravy. My 1st and last time there.

In kumta( Uttara Kannada).... Green gate is famous restaurant for chicken mutton & sea food also...come visit this place.....
Have had sea food all across dakshina karnataka - lengh and breadth, diagonal and horizontal.... there ain't a best place like this , absolute taste

A must recommend Mini Fish thali hotel in and around Mangalore... I have seen some comments about price.. yes it's bit costly compare to all other mini hotels serving smelly, uncleaned fishes.. but in Giri Manjas u won't get such

Yes, ಒಂದು ಕೆಜಿ ಬಂಗುಡೆ ಗೆ 250 rupees,ಮಾರ್ಕೆಟ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ 5 ರಿಂದ 6 ಬರುತ್ತೆ, ಇವರ ರೇಟ್ 100 ರಿಂದ 125, ಅಂಜಲ್ ಪಾಂಪ್ಲೆಟ್ ಕೇಳಲೇ ಬೇಡಿ.

It’s only propaganda … we still have more restaurants in mlr better served with value for money .. just been once and I couldn’t find anything spec ..lack of space and taste is normal
ambience is not good. better shift the toilet of this hotel to some other place. place stinks with toilet smell

In so many fish restaurant s are here ok Giri manja not only a fish fry hotel you know bunder Narayana hotel there give so nice fish fry about 30 to 45years very good fish fry fish also fresh ok don't make a fool so many fish fry hotels in manglore don't fool tourism and poor people s mind it
