- Steiny & Guru try to get to the bottom of WHY San Francisco Giants fans are as enthusiastic, associative, and affiliated with the team as they were, just 10 years ago! That's a LONG time in sports to be irrelevant.

Farhan's brother just called in. The one guy that supports Farhan! Lol.
as someone noted - farhan ia fantasy league player
The controlling owner is a 90 plus year old billionaire from Florida who has his son running the team. That is where the dysfunction starts, and shite rolls down hill.
bullcrap. NIce cope
Paul is 100 percent right
Anyone who criticizes Sabean and Evan's is a fool. That caller is clueless. Just clueless.
Warriors fans will be the same too and another reason, maybe the solid fans are leaving the bay to move out to a different state. Bay area is getting expensive.
KNBR and 95.7 are stuck looking for the next Carlos Correa freakout. It aint happening because that was a historic once in a century Giants faceplant. I dunno maybe watch the games and heve a fresh take ??? I mean the radio talks about the Giants for 5 minutes a day so spare me the heartache.
This team is unrecognizable now. They don’t have players outside of Webb and JH Lee who we can latch onto and grow to love. Also, take the names off the back of the home jerseys. Never liked that!
Not gonna lie. Me and the family used to take an annual trip to watch the Dodgers play up there. We love that ballpark but in the last 10 years the area around Oracle has gotten significantly worse in that time. Not saying LA is any better but leaving a Dodger game you’re still in the stadium bubble. In SF as soon as you leave the gates real life hits you in the face.
What? In the last 10 years they’ve done nothing but build new condos, chase center and park space around there. It used to just be dirt and parking lots
@@zanderjepsen3671 ok they’ve done that in SD also but the Homeless population keeps climbing. It was never this bad.
It was Farhan's commitment to and fascination with, platooning. It exposed him as a baseball executive who never played the game and doesn't understand it. And that kicked up to the question of whether ownership knows what they're doing, and the answer is a resounding no. It has sunk the franchise. I personally believe relocation of the franchise is a possibility.
What? Relocation? Where?... The Giants aren't going anywhere!
The lure of Oracle Park isn't what it used to be(it is over 20 years old). And, a bad economy keeps some casual fans away who might otherwise go see a mediocre .500 team. It seems the Giants management think all they have to do is sell the park's beauty and garlic fries, never mind about having a team that's actually good--hence the reason why they keep chasing after superstars instead of investing money in the farm system
The caller still blaming Sabean and Evans--they've been gone five years, you can't blame this on them, the only player left from their era is Austin Slater
Hell nah
Don’t want to hear another word about who the majority owner is, unless he isn’t committed to winning. If that’s the case, let’s get new ownership in here. Good luck with that…. But nobody questions the ownership of other teams when they are winning. Point is, it’s a cop out and you KNOW that the players are probably more in line with the owner politically than you think.
For the virtue signaling Bay Area fans, there is no reality though. Life is only about which political team you root for. Every conversation presents a chance to bring up Jan 6th. Their brains are rotten. It’s a sad, disgusting reality of our country (but mostly just CA) that no one can ever get over the “awakening” that has happened this past ten years
During the good years when the Giants were packing the new stadium, there was always a lot of talk about the casual fans ruining it. Tons of corporate types taking business customers or partners to the game to see if Barry would hit one out, or watch Timmy or Posey or whatever. The true fans have been priced out of that place for years, and now when there is no intrigue from the luxury suite types, it’s an empty tomb at AT&T. I remember parking used to be less than $20 at that stadium and you could walk in from across the street. Now it’s towers of condos and parking is a marathon away. Heck, they were so desperate for fans at the Stick that kids tickets used to be $1 all summer. Times haven’t always been great for this franchise and it has always been a tough sell when they stink. As it should be. It should be motivation to NOT stink.
you are not making that up -having been a giant fan for 40 years - no interest have not been to a game in 10 years do not listen on radio just check the score
KNBR and 95.7 are realists. Anyone who disagrees, not realists.
