I remember reading that Bandai Namco said Storm 4 would be the last storm game, and all Naruto games going forward would be under a different banner.

Naruto The Broken Bond was amazing, the RPG elements in the game was outstanding, wish more games was like it.

honestly, i was thinking broken bond was better than rise of a ninja. but when you see the bad things, i instantly remembered all that looong and boring filler sections. if they patched the game without any filler mission and correct some things (like the weird mementum in jumps, glitches and the useless not true combo) this game had a lot of potential to be the best single player naruto mode

Idk if its just nostalgia talking but I loved those filler sections. Its kind of why I play anime games. To me, nothing is more boring than an anime game being a dry retelling of the main story (kind of why I dislike the story of a lot of DBZ games). Those filler sections may be boring or repetitive to you, but at least they fill out the world and give me stuff to do as the characters I love. I think more games should take that approach. To me the perfect anime game formula is like broken bond. You nail the presentation of the key moments in the story, adding a minigame here or a quicktime event there, while offering some small moments of new character interactions and expanding the gameplay to some of the side characters. I can appreciate a game that just tells the story straight, but to me its always more interesting to expand the world and the characters by adding new interactions, missions, side quests, etc. And while maybe I'm misremembering how long the filler sections of this game were, I still remember how cool it was using Shikamaru's shadows over a Naruto clone bridge to hit a switch, or using Neij's rotation and byakugan to find a person and navigate a trap filled forest. Stuff like that doesn't happen if you stick to just telling the main story and I appreciate those moments. But maybe they could've been optional?
The first storm game is also not shippuden.

Broken Bond is my favorite Naruto game just because of how immersive the adventure mode is. I enjoyed the experience of traveling through the Naruto world so much that I deliberately REPLAYED the filler missions countless times.
I love this series! Can't wait to see all the storm games ranked next time! Storm 3 full burst is my favorite! ( I haven't played the 4th one tough...I would like to see if i missed something by not playing it).

I just hope you give each storm game the amount of love they deserve. While some may not be as great as others (generations and revolutions), the gameplay changes and story beats all deserve a good amount of time.
I only state the worry due to you doing them all at once, hopefully it's just an extra long video XD.

I played a ton of Broken Bond online against a friend and random high-ranking players when it came out and it is just as you said in the video. I think the ranking is more than fair and I am glad you enjoyed the game!
Broken bond was amazing to me I love all of even the fetch quests an whenever a bandit come out I love playing with them an Using my jujitsu an skills but he didn’t even say anything about the boss card 😭 globku why didn’t you say anything about them

I don't know if you will read this or not, but I wanted to thank you for creating this series of videos. I was a very big fan of Naruto and tried to play most of its games across different consoles; watching your videos was such a good nostalgia trip and made remember how great / awful some of they actually were.
Keep up the good work! I'm subscribing and hope to see your ranking of the Shippuden games one day :)
broken bond was my first exposure to naruto, i really loved the jutsu system and played it for so long online. I really loved exploring the village and even though i have never watched or read naruto, i felt it did a really good job for newcomers. Going back to it I agree it goes way too hard on filler. IDK what happens in naruto as, like i said i havent seen or read naruto, but even I could tell all those bandit fights were just filler. So much 'nothing' happens. If someone were to mod all of that out of the game, I feel like it would have been the best naruto game covering the original series. I just always found memorising the hand symbols directions and small minigames to be really fun, even if they do kill the flow of combat at times. The keep away in order to try charging your jutsu to its highest level was also a really cool risk reward system to me.

I came back to the game after ten years and after almost 3 hours of trying, i finally defeated him it was so great to finally unlock Bando and Mission mode after all these years lol
So I've never owned a Naruto game, but I'm getting back into the show looooooooong after the fact after totally burning out on Dragon Ball. I wasn't interested in these Ranking videos at first, but you present them basically as mini-reviews and it's really helped me get into the scope of the franchise.
I love seeing how this stuff evolves and tweaks over time, but I especially enjoy seeing the quirks of each game as they work out what they're doing. And since I'm not as intimately familiar with Naruto I don't feel like I'm being bombarded with the same info over and over.
Basically I'm having a great time binging this.

I can first hand tell you, everyone cheats online multiplayer. There's a infinite combo you can do that require no brian power and locks the opponent in for a full 5 minute to defeat them. All the while Lee's broken one-two-stun/side step rinse and repeat combo is broken as heck in this game. That Annoying spammers only use that to get their ranking very high, while people use Tsunade to knock back and then regenerate heatlh and do it all over again.
The multiplayer is horrible in Broken bonds and is not enjoyable at all, as its easy to exploit. Be glad the online for the game is shut down.
@@DetroitsReaper It was, and wish we could get another style of this game...sadly we won't. Be awesome to see this style in shippuuden as well with other playable characters.

Some online matches in Storm 3 would be amazing. The games mechanics are extremely underrated. It’s still broken but man is the combat so diverse. Unfortunately I’m on Xbox.

I've only owned 3 games from the naruto generation. Uzumaki chronicles 2 rise of a ninja and broken bonds, I have too see what you have too say about the other 2 but I totally agree in that broken bonds isn't better then rise of a ninja. Crazy how much you can remember even if it was almost ten years ago you played a game

My hot take on the naruto games series is that I think the unique ultimate jutsus in Storm 1 were much cooler than their replacements in future games (Like Jiraya and Kabuto's, especially the former). And I'm sad the unique awakenings weren't separate characters with their own ultimates anymore even if they were broken. (Because I don't think the storm series was really that balanced at all and competitive anyway so it's sad that they got rid of this feature)

I think that you put Broken Bonds on good place(Through i do prefer the lack of anime cutscenes, i prefer each game to try to flex the use of the character models to do cutscenes) and next is the last Naruto videogame series we will have until there is a resurrection to the Naruto series... What we know there is not going to be a lot of Naruto games, and Boruto is not doing hot(What a shock betraying your franchise does kill it). And even then, in my opinion, outside of gameplay improvements, Storm 4 drops the ball, so it will be interesting to see Globku opinions.

I think the assessment of The Broken Bond was very fair. At the time of release it definitely did feel better than rise of a Ninja, but in the long-term, Rise of a Ninja age is a little bit better as far as the single player campaign is concerned.
Transitioning to in-engine cutscenes definitely felt like an upgrade at the time, but in hindsight, the technology just wasn't there yet. Had the same game been made with cyberconnect2's current engine (or even with the engine they had in 2008 since Storm came put around the same time as TBB), that would have justified twin-engine cutscenes.
Lastly, the color palette in RoaN was definitely better than TBB. The D saturated tones work very well for seems like the third Hokage funeral and maybe even Naruto vs Sasuke but as a whole, Naruto is a very colorful series, especially in Part 1. General exploration and fights like the 3 way deadlock don't shine as much with the dulled colors.

Broken Bond is a much better game then Rise of The Ninja. The story mode it self is worth playing multiple times and the Sasuke retrieval arc is really done justice in this game compared to all other Naruto games.
Now pls do a rating dragon ball s or bleach games 🥺

Yeah, broken bond is where it should be. I the filler blows and it's clear all their budget went into smoothing the things they knew, rather than trying to make a good filler story, which back then was fine. But now... Not so much.
