Yow!!! Absolutely amazing. Unbelievable sound and picture restoration. Maybe someday we'll have all performances and documents this great. What a boon for history!!!
OMG! There aren’t enough superlatives in any language to describe how amazing this is. I know this tune backwards and forwards so to hear and see it this way well it’s extraordinary. Do you know if the original was recorded live or dubbed later after the filming?
Don't know, but let's assume everything on film is faked to sound playback. The Buddy Rich solo in the film however, and in the recording, is a different take :)😃 Imagine how amazing it felt to create it! This one I worked on for a month - to rest the ears enough for a nice sound mix.👍 Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed :)
So you're saying the performance heard in the film was recorded by the band as seen on the sound stage? I see you use a version of Jimmy's entrance where he clams the high note.
Nope. I know about "Hollywood"... What's seen on film is more than likely the band play-faking it as this portion was shot on two days apparently (the piano solos proves its fakery, and the Buddy Rich different drum fills proves different recording sessions or inserts). I'm synchronizing the film's video (fake playing or not) to the existing remixed mono soundtrack which contains the already synchronized audio. Then I am matching that with 2 DIFFERENT music stem tracks (recorded with other tracks not in the released film) which of course was NOT synchronized to the film), each channel re-split again - a total of 8 tracks - combined to stereo. Everything you hear is in the timeline to your left in the video, with snips taken out of the film to maintain sync with the additional tracks. Does that explanation help answer your question?
Can you clear up where are you getting these tracks from? In the movie as released Jimmy Zito doesn't clam the chromatic run in that second phrase right after Ziggy's first phrase like you have him doing here.

Excellent work! Sounds great! Thanks! 👍👍
Wow, amazing work! To hear a recording from 1942 that sounds that clear and expansive is wonderful.
Not only does this sound great, Buddy Rich looks like he's having fun.

Am truly impressed with that terrific sound!!!
Just imagine seeing this pantheon of talent playing all together LIVE!
Excellent work, the big band sound in stereo was great! Thanks!!👍😊
¡¡¡Que preciosura; un trabajo impecable!!! Its a gorgeus work, awesome, impeccable. Regards from Argentina
Me alegra mucho que hayas disfrutado el vídeo. ¡Fue divertido hacerlo para que personas como tú lo apreciaran! ¡Gracias! Thank you so much 😀
Mastered in 24 bit 96kHz - stunning dynamic range, but RUclips squashes it to 16/48k :-( CHANGE SETTINGS to 4K!
Extremely well done. Thank you very much for your work. It sounds truly stereo.
The color in this video is amazing
Thank you. I juiced it up a bit...Don't just edit the sound
Do you know if this was recorded live? I ask because every musician on the screen is playing in exact sync with the film. I mean EXACT 😊
I do not know, but knowing film production it's more than likely just fakery playing along with the track. My editing also 'helped' 😁
Amazing! Thank you!
Much appreciation

Zeer vriendelijke woorden inderdaad. Dankjewel, van een ander van Nederlandse afkomst. Greetings from New Jersey :-)
Fantastic!!!
Magnifique! I don’t understand all the fancy music terms. All I can say is that this sounds fantastic!!
Can this be done to any mono track?
Not really to the level this was achieved, but yes...You should experiment with spleeter. Look it up ;-)
Nice , thanks for the share !!!
Thanks for the visit
Who is that other trumpet player? Ziggy and.....
If only 'ya stuck it through to 4:49 you'd have the answer ...Ziggy 'n Zito...
maybe it's just me
but this sounds slightly treble boosted
I'm getting old?

what software are you used?
Avid Media Composer (video version of ProTools) with MANY plug-ins (i.e. Oxford, etc.) and a great deal of notch EQing...
