WOWSERS! thats an absolute BEAUTY :-) those blooms are out of this world, so so BEAUTIFUL :-) Thank you so much for sharing the beauty and the care tips for this stunning Zygopetalum Brad and have a MAGNIFICENT Sunday ahead today XXXXX
That's a really beautiful plant! The leafs of my Zygonisia are free of spots, but I've had some rot problems with the oldest and a very young pseudobulb. But its smell is just fantastic. Thanks for sharing!
thank you for the video I will try to get one of those at Portland orchid show is coming up next weekend God bless you thank you so much for all the information have a great day.
If you haven't already done so, would you consider doing a video on what makes an orchid an orchid. What defines its' anatomy and makes it different from other flowering plants.
I have tried another Zygo, was so happy when I found it three months ago. However, it has recently lost 2 leaves for no apparent reason, and the pseudobulb they sat on has some pretty wide brown spots at the top. Is this rot? Rest of the plant looks sort of healthy, but Im worried, since the spotted bulb is the biggest bulb.
I was just in Kauai and their local walmart garden center was full of these orchids. I didn't know what they were or what kind of care requirements. I fell in love with then though and wanted to take one home with me. 😣😥
Thanks so much for this! I am a new orchid enthusiast, and having a lot of trouble finding good info about my zygo. My plant is quite small and looks like it's just a single immature bulb, compared to yours. I have had it for about 6 months. Its leaves have grown, but it hasn't produced any new leaves. My main concern is that it keeps losing leaves. One at a time, a leaf with get pale with green spots, then eventually brown and fall off. I'm keeping it with my Phals, so perhaps it needs less light? I think it's pretty happy overall. It just started producing a new growth at the base, which I'm guessing is a new pseudobulb?
Your information was very helpful. My Zygo is outside and gets only east sunlight in the morning from about 7:30-10am. Since it is a cool grower is it safe to move it inside permanently to promote spiking? Current temperature outside is humid and can get way above 84 degrees during summer months. Currently, I have her in spagnamoss but the roots are starting to shrivel since repot a month ago. Wat do you recommend?
