Thanks for watching! It was a great show, and I knew going in there would be Phelps' in the audience (avid Smodcast fan). We saw them picketing when We arrived at the venue before the show. I also have a video up of Kevin's introduction BEFORE they showed Red State. I'm really glad I got those front row tickets now... such a great memory to have! Again, thanks again for watching and commenting. :-)
They both seem so happy :) watching documentaries back when they were in the church and they were so twisted up and angry and intense, and now look at them :) awwww.
Four of Fred Sr.'s children - Nate, Dorotha, Mark and Katherine - have left. Of his grandchildren, Libby, Josh, Megan, and Grace have left. WBC has also "cast out" quite a few, including most of the Hockenbarger family and several of his childrens' spouses.
Thanks to the channels owner for posting this it was amazing!!! To the haters or hecklers STFU, who cares how it happened, just be happy it did! The outcome was awesome, informative, and just good old fashioned entertainment!!!
@Veryape121 they were not guests of Mr. Smith... they were audience members whose appearance was not planned. This particular part happened during the Q&A after the premiere. I don't know how that makes her 'all about the publicity' unless you simply like jumping to conclusions.
First of all Happy New Year!! I do agree with you. I think eventually, as soon as Fred Phelps dies, the WBC will disintergrate. However, even if only 2 would remain, they would still picket. Sad that all these people wasted their life.
ya know what's even more unfortunate than WBC protesting kevin smith.. the fact that you didn't turn your phone sideways to film this. hahah jk(;... ..
Steve Drain is supposed to be the worst person in the entire church, and he wasn't even born there; he joined as an adult with his family. He's apparently been trying to take over the church from the beginning, and was instrumental in taking power away from the women. Shirley and Margie are very smart, fierce and charismatic women - they got replaced by Steve Drain, someone that's so dumb, uncharismatic, untalented and arrogant.
Apparently the Phelps had enough of him when he refused to stop picketing during the pandemic and threw him out. I heard he started his own church in Mississippi.
I live in Washington and this year we passed the gay marriage bill and legalized marijuana. Suddenly that quote from the bible made sense "If a man lay with another man is he does with a woman; he should be stoned." I totally get it now.
Here's a where is Waldo, Try to find someone that has moved away from the WBC and is still a member of that Church. I have not stepped foot in my Church in over two decades and I still send donations and I'm still considered a member.
Wow, when Libby stated that Megan was one of the strongest members (or something like that), it cracked me up because Megan is officially out of that cult now. So THAT is saying something against the WBCult.
Beaugart12, can you tell me, do you know how many of the WBC members have left/were kicked out by now?? I knew of 4, one daughter of Fred Phelp, Nate, Mark (Ibelieve his name is), and Lauren (not a Phelps) and now these 2, that make 6 in total that I know of!! Thanx for posting this, this was good to see, and the ones that left are actually come across as being nice individuals.
Recently steve drain and who’s whole family except Taylor who married a Phelps got kicked out because he was upset with the church following stay at home orders during COVID.
I hope so. Lauren Drain was "cast out" (their version of excommunication, only a hell of a lot more mean and nasty, and her father, Steve Drain, instigated the whole thing) back in 2007 and she just released a really good book describing what it was like there.
I do think that WBC will fall apart, but not when Fred Phelp's dies. In my opinion once more of Fred Phelp's grandchildren become legal adults they will leave like all the others which will insanely cripple the church.
@dramaticafantastica I wonder to what extent they really were angry or just played along with what was expected from them. In all the interviews the girls seemed really twisted. They also seemed to have changed quickly now that they're separated from the cult.
The Phelps finally had it with him during COVID when he refused to stop Pickering and threw him and his family out except Taylor who married a Phelps. Apparently he started a new church in Mississippi.
What's worse is knowing that this man, a soldier, joined this cult that has the disgusting gall to pickets soldiers' funerals. I wonder what his own fallen comrades would think of him now.
its sad thats how you see it, they werent their principles. they were the principles of their crazy relatives, based on their warped interperitation of a book they dont even understand.
I am a Phelps myself. I am named after a Phelps who was an U.S. Naval officer. The U.S.S. Phelps, which was named after him (and I) survived the attack at Pearl Harbor, and managed to shoot down Japanese planes. Since discovering this, I've had a strange urge to listen to Shirley Temple's rendition of 'On The Good Ship, Lollipop.' Oh well, a guy could do worse things, such as sit through a Kevin Smith movie!
@TheGliderules Did you WATCH the video? No one was belittled or demeaned... and they most certainly did not fall down, they rose above the environment of hatred they were born into. They are inspirational... but I wouldn't expect you to understand that concept if you can't understand the simple definition of belittling. Please take your closed-mindedness elsewhere.
Something else to appreciate: their sense of humor, especially when Josh talks about Steve and Star Wars.

Mel Maguire Katherine was accepted back a couple years ago
this is awesome thanks for posting ;)
This Q&A is brilliant!

They are still around 8 years after Fred died.
ya know what's even more unfortunate than WBC protesting kevin smith.. the fact that you didn't turn your phone sideways to film this. hahah jk(;... ..
In Lauren's book "Banished", she said that her dad went and spoke to Josh when he left the church 9 years ago

Shirley has a son Zacharias who left a few months ago
@BennyDemetri The ones he brought on stage won their tickets off the radio. the ones he invited left 10 minutes into the film. lol
this is the greatest day of my life...
the one dislike must be someone from the crazy as shit phelps family...
What does the dude from the crowd yell around the 30 minute mark?
I live in Washington and this year we passed the gay marriage bill and legalized marijuana. Suddenly that quote from the bible made sense "If a man lay with another man is he does with a woman; he should be stoned." I totally get it now.
just the perfect words.
Jael is married and still in WBC, I don't think she's getting out anytime soon.
Yes, indeed. His name is Matthias Holroyd. Apparently, he actually sought out the WBC. That's how they met.
am I remembering this wrong or was this recorded for one of the smodcast podcasts?
very cool
Here's a where is Waldo, Try to find someone that has moved away from the WBC and is still a member of that Church. I have not stepped foot in my Church in over two decades and I still send donations and I'm still considered a member.
It's nice to see the humanity behind Gods / The Grandfathers message of hate.
Good Luck to them both.
there was 3 Phelps defectors watching this video...
No, apparently some guy from the UK flew in and met her.
Wow, when Libby stated that Megan was one of the strongest members (or something like that), it cracked me up because Megan is officially out of that cult now. So THAT is saying something against the WBCult.
I got 50 bucks that says Ol Fred listens to Pat Boone lmao

good for them for waking up
which members of the phelps family are they? they might of said it but i probably just didnt hear it.

In his Q&A Burn in Hell, Kevin Smith said he invited them to the premiere.
No he invited current WBC is members
@dramaticafantastica I wonder to what extent they really were angry or just played along with what was expected from them. In all the interviews the girls seemed really twisted. They also seemed to have changed quickly now that they're separated from the cult.
@BennyDemetri He invited SOME. They sat up in the balcony with him
@Eighttrak1 I'll pray for your soul.
@spbennett100 OBVIOUSLY the intelligent ones. XD
I think that one dislike is Steve Drain.... not enough tradgedies and misery for him to mock here.
The Phelps finally had it with him during COVID when he refused to stop Pickering and threw him and his family out except Taylor who married a Phelps. Apparently he started a new church in Mississippi.
That was Megan Phelps
@TrollMaster5 Figs, huh?
thank you for the video...but GOD DAMN YOU ARE LOUD,LOL!!
What's worse is knowing that this man, a soldier, joined this cult that has the disgusting gall to pickets soldiers' funerals. I wonder what his own fallen comrades would think of him now.
Libby is hot, and she likes Muse. Her husband Logan is a very lucky person.
its sad thats how you see it, they werent their principles. they were the principles of their crazy relatives, based on their warped interperitation of a book they dont even understand.
forgiven for doing what?
Im being scammed. I reported them

I'm not trying to be an ass but Kevin shouldn't wear the hockey jersies all the time, he's a sweater like me and hockey jersies are too hot
$10,000 dollars, they convert to atheism in time. Takers?
@mmemme poogle Go troll someone else's video with your hate.
Lady...... it’s not THAT funny!!! 😐
