Damn he looks so much different with just at a simple haircut. But such a mild mannered young man you'd never know he's taken many lives. Must be very good at sectioning off that portion of his memory. Whether I support our leadership or not nothing but love for our military troops
Great take. As a marksman who went into a career in psychiatry, I can confirm it is all about sectioning it off. No matter how much you may tell yourself that the person in your scope is evil, it doesn't change the fact that you are taking a person's life. You have generalized, you generalize that the leaders were correct, the fight was just, and that the people you directly or indirectly killed deserved it or had to fight because it is so hard for the mind to comprehend it. I'm very impressed how well Nick adjusted, it took me a decade to fully adjust.
I've been around team guys, Recon Marines, and special warfare shooters for years. Deadliest men on the planet. But it's not something we talk about to eachother. And never once did any of them "convince" someone that they're "dangerous" ..
He said in other videos that he struggled at first and got drunk for a long time to deal with it. Thankfully he is doing well these days.
This guy has incredible stories I hope he gets on Shawn's show to hear his whole story
Read his book. Then you will be giving some support to an American icon. Our vets don't get much so I'm sure it would be appreciated.
