I loved this vlog! I always see the people who say being an ESL teacher in Korea is bad but this showed me that's not always the case! Would you say ESL teachers get a lot of structure and advice on lesson planning? Or do you have to plan everything yourself? I want to be an ESL teacher in either Korea or China but I get confused a lot so this is one of my concerns :(
@winkazuha-b1q thank you so much for watching! What do they mean by bad? That’s interesting, I’d like to understand what’s bad about it. No workplace is perfect but for the most part, it’s great. Yes we do get structure and advice on lesson planning. It’s the same structure we learn for the TEFL certificate with some differences here and there based on the textbook you use. You don’t come up with the content yourself, you’re mostly in charge of deciding how you’ll deliver the content. There are so many resources and websites that assist you in the process. I hope that answers your questions🫶🏾
@@Shirley.sThirties Aha don't worry. Usually it's the people who go there expecting to have lots of free time and have high expectations which aren't realistic, a lot of the time it's the people who do it just so they can get a visa to stay who complain and say it's bad, the ones who actually want to teach as a career don't do it. Wow! Thank you for giving me such helpful info! You've 100% made me less worried and scared about it! Thank you :))
@winkazuha-b1q Coming from another public middle school teacher in Korea, every school is different! I am in charge of planning everything, making materials and delivering content solely! My co-teachers don't give any input on my classes and it's all down to me. Usually the Korean co-teacher has no idea what I'm going to teach until I teach it. Some schools are more controlling/helping (depends how you see it^^) Regardless, I love my job and about to start my second year here :)
how do you double subscribe makoti you rock
I thought ESL was going to be English Sign Language. Lol You were not really teaching sign language. I understand you are teaching English but what does ESL stand for?
@@CariW90 😅it stands for English as a Second Language. I see why you thought it stands for English Sign Language 😅. Thanks for watching!
@ ahh haha gotcha! Thank you!!
