    You do NOT need to clean your device in this manner. Unscented soap and water is completely adequate. I recommend plant-based Seventh Generation Free & Clear Dish Liquid Soap. Do NOT use Dawn (it's harsh, scented and chemical based).

      @@millan.9787 I just don't think it's necessary. However, it's safe to use when diluted 50-50 with water. But it should not be used as a replacement for regular cleaning with hot soapy water.

    Ozone has its place in cleaning.
    I used to work in the cleaning industry and ozone machines are used for specific purposes. Say your home gets skunked and becomes unlivable. A cleaning company will put an ozone machine in the home (while you sleep in a hotel) and it will eliminate the odor very effectively. You will be advised to remove certain items from your home that can be damaged by ozone. After cleaning the home is thoroughly ventilated before you reoccupy.
    You won't breathe ozone by using anything cleaned by an ozone machine, it's a gas it does not adhere to anything. Once purged by ventilation its gone.
    Plastics are impacted by ozone (including foam). Putting a CPAP machine in an ozone machine is dumb, it will destroy any plastics in the CPAP machine with repeated cleanings. The ozone mache should be used solely to clean and sanitize items that are difficult to clean otherwise and are replaced fairly regularly. One item I can think of is the filters in Resmed masks that help to cut down on noise as you exhale, those filters are non replaceable and cannot be cleaned because of the way they are designed. There are videos showing the bacterial buildup in these filters, this is an item that will benefit from ozone cleaning. There maybe others. Is it worth buying an ozone machine to clean the resmed mask filters? Only you can decide.

    Thanks for not selling ozone machines! Ozon is a very powerful oxidizer, among other processes it is used where very powerful reaction is needed as bleaching pulp for paper.
    Respiratory signs and symptoms of exposure to ozone become more severe as the concentration of ozone increases in the air. The current OSHA permissible exposure limit (PEL) for ozone is 0.1 part of ozone per million parts of air averaged over an eight-hour workshift

Or do they use one and done masks? Just curious.. BTW. I now clean my cpap equipment once a week with dawn.No problems..

      Hospitals use various methods to clean and sterilize masks, especially those used in surgical or critical care settings. Here's a general overview:
      1. **Disposable Masks**: Often, masks used in hospitals are disposable, particularly surgical masks and N95 respirators. These are typically used once and then discarded, as they are designed for single use and may lose their effectiveness after cleaning.
      2. **High-Level Disinfection**: For reusable masks, hospitals may use high-level disinfection processes. This can include using chemical disinfectants that are capable of killing bacteria and viruses without damaging the mask material.
      3. **Sterilization**: Some masks can undergo sterilization processes, like autoclaving, which uses high-pressure saturated steam at high temperatures to kill all forms of microorganisms, including spores.
      4. **Ultraviolet (UV) Light**: UV light sterilization is another method used for sanitizing masks. UV-C light specifically can effectively inactivate viruses and bacteria by destroying their DNA or RNA.
      5. **Hydrogen Peroxide Vapor**: This method involves exposing the masks to hydrogen peroxide vapor under specific conditions of humidity and temperature, which effectively decontaminates them.

      Does peroxide and uv light act like ozone? Does it degrade the plastic?

      Yes hospitals use ozone to sanitize Operating Theaters. They should ventilate the room and equipment prior to reoccupation and use. They may have skipped a step.

    The only reason I'm on this video is because I was looking for the sequence to reset the filter change alert on the soclean 2...I had no freaking clue there was a recall.... I don't use CPAP myself... My roommate does. He's had no issues ..gosh, maybe 4 years .. possibly 5... I can't remember how long we've had it...I do know he takes it out after the cleaning and lets the mask just sit outside of the soclean for a few hours before bed... not sure if that helps anything.

    • @JeanPierreWhite

      Cleaning accessories like masks and hoses is fine. Some people put the entire cpap machine in which will destroy the machine.

  • @skyt54

    I use the soclean to clean the tube and mask only, not the machine. So I do not breath in ozone at all. I used to get sores on my face from the straps which would hold bacteria and or fungus. It's a pain to wash the straps every other day so I got the soclean and did not get sores on my face any more. So would you agree that is a good thing or not. I need to get a new soclean now because it does not seem to be working anymore, it does not smell like ozone anymore it smells like ammonia and I have started getting sores on my face again.

  • @jonhansen4745
    @jonhansen4745 Год назад

    So how much ozone does your body actually take in 12-14 hours after your SoClean has gone through it's cleaning cycle? Is there some left in the water tank, in the hose, in the mask? Does it remain in the system for the whole 8 hours you're sleeping or does it dissipate a few hours after the cleaning cycle? I'm not trying to pick a fight here. I honestly want to know the facts. Thanks for the info from a SoClean user of over 5 years.

    • @USAMedicalSupply
      @USAMedicalSupply  Год назад +1

      There are many variables to that question that I don’t know the answers to. Time, Temperature, humidity, and concentration of ozone all play a factor. Ozone has a distinct smell like mildew, rotten eggs, chlorine type odor. If you smell that, you’re exposed and it can create harm even at low levels to the lungs.

    Okay I have two questions. We just got our first cpap for my husband. How long does this cleaning machine take to ruin a cpap? And how often does insurance replace these machines?
    And the soclean machine says to leave it two hours after use to allow the ozone to dissipate. Isn't the danger for sure passed after twelve hours?

    • @JeanPierreWhite
      @JeanPierreWhite 4 месяца назад

      Ozone will destroy plastics and foams over time. So for masks and hoses that are replaced frequently its not a concern. CPAP machines are good for 5 years, cleaning the cpap machine with ozone is a bad bad idea.
