The fact that Alucard believes that Anderson deserved better and more than what he got speaks volumes of his respect for The Judas Priest
Tristan Tadsen one of the few people alucard genuinely loved. one of the few to push alucard to his limits.

I wouldn't say love, it was more like respect. Alucard pretty much wants to die by a mortals hand, not a monsters. Mostly because he wants to repent for the many innocent mortal lives he's taken, and for the lives vampires he created had taken. Anderson gave up his humanity by spiking himself, which made Alucard sad that he'd give up his humanity.
If he hadn't spiked himself, he'd probably have killed Alucard. That he made himself a monster gave alucard the resolve to beat him, both in original and abridged. Alucard doesn't want to exist, much like the Judas Priests he exists to prevent worse from existing. But he'd love to die by a worthy man's hand.

Alucard understood Anderson's motivations all too well, he didn't hate him. Having seen the worst of humanity, he knew that he was simply misled. When he destroyed what he had become after taking in the nail that had impaled Jesus, he was doing so because he had to, not because he wanted to. I think Alucard as he's depicted and I share the same view when it comes to religion; we hate those that twist words to use people and to slay in the name of scripture, not the people that are tricked themselves.

It is undeniable that abridged Anderson did awful stuff, but in the end, he knew what he had to do.
He was fighting the devil's monster, so he had to become god's monster.
He knew what he had to and didn't hesitate.

He walked the same path as Solomon Kane and Constantine. Committed great sins, but also fought against the darkness with righteous fire. They did not expect to see the Pearly Gates opened for them, but were content that others had the chance to do so because of them.

What makes Hellsing Abridged so much greater than other parodies is it is not just a parody. It is still true to the story and the characters, just flipped upside down. We still learn the actual tale, just with a more insane, humorous colour to it.
The fate he embrased was death. Throwing away his humanity was the worst mistake he made, "He should have gotten more in life then what his saviour brought him." "A life peity and this is what it got him?" "To sacrifice his personhood is what the church had taught him." he was the HUMAN the Alucard respected most, and Alucard's lines in this song actually represent his canon character's opinion of Anderson, and that he should never have sacrificed himself to become a the weapon of a monster of the same caliber as him (Implied or my interpreted vision of what the Helsing God is like), in fact, Alucard in canon stated "A monster could never hope to kill me." imlying that a HUMAN Anderson could, which taking into account Alucard's immortality, is to say that he would have let him, a one on one duel to the death in what he agreed to, untill his opponent was no longer the same person atleast.
"God's monster" I swear this should be a thing people say. God's monster. This really specific philosophy where you know the things you're doing are horrible, but you're doing them for good reasons. Sacrificing your own innocence so others may live better. Becoming God's monster. Amazing.

My favorite part was right after this. Satan saying, "That was a pretty good deal Alucard." That one gets me. The being whose struggle to climb back to heaven keeps the bellows on the flames of hell, the one being who is cursed beyond the betrayers, watches his most loyal monster turn down an offer he has been waiting for eternally. It gives the show a lot of depth. The fallen angel got to watch God give one of his only friends a ticket to heaven. When Alucard declined, Satan must have been so pissed that he didn't get that offer.

In fairness, he only ripped out his heart *because* of how much he respected Anderson as a man, rather than as a vessel for God.
I choose to believe that when Anderson reached Heaven, both Jesus and God offered to make him a Saint, but he turned them down, insisting that his work made him unworthy of the position, simply asking if he could instead be one of the lead angels, training them to fight and defeat demons, doing in his afterlife what he enjoyed in his earthly life.

I really think the crew loved the characters they voiced.
Dragonball Z is TFS's wonderful adopted child, but Hellsing Abridged was their project of glorious purpose.

Anderson wasn't a villain. He followed orders and eventually came to understand and respect his foes. If anything, he became the closest thing Hellsing had to a hero besides Seras (who stayed an idealist that wanted to help people even after becoming a vampire by the looks of it)

Honestly, everything the TFS did on animes, every single parody, is a masterpiece itself.
If I were, like, Netflix (let's say), I would immediately make a contract with them
Watching Dragonball Z Abridged is truly a journey in their progress to awesome. Their first season is so rough but still so enjoyable, but then in season 2 you can feel their experience shine.
An official TFS series with a Netflix level budget and them having free reign could wind up one of the greatest things in all of existence

The companies and the creators of the original anime flag their videos and do copyright bullshit, but this is what I believe to be the ultimate tribute to one's art, knowing that it has inspired people with creativity and talent to put this much work, creating a parody that also honors the original.

Similar thing for me with DBZA. I watched the original anime and read the manga as a kid and into my teen years but, it wasn't until DBZA that I actually went out and bought the dvd set for each saga as TFS finished each season. I supported the official release. I also swear by the fact the DBS started going into production when DBZA was at the height of it's popularity and without DBZA, we probably never would have gotten DBS

Sure he was not the most intellectual person in DBZ but he was still smart in his own way. I think DBZA might have influenced them a little so they thought it would be a good idea to make Goku as dumb as DBZA Goku.

The Major's was my favorite.
I think it's becasue them and pip all had easiest voices to sing with. Or at the least they had the most ability to sing while in character. Nowacking you could hear had a hard time maintaining her accent. Megami33, while a good singer, also you could hear wasn't having the best of time singing in the deep british accent compared to her natural higher pitch but still did an ok job.

I was listening to Alexander Anderson perhaps more times than is healthy
And I noticed a couple interesting differences between it and the opening song of Hamilton
The most obvious one is how both songs end. Hamilton ends with a big, triumphant, orchestral explosion, because it starts the story. Even though it's kind of Shakespearean in that it tells you how the story ends ("His enemies destroyed his rep, America forgot him"/"And me? I'm the damn fool that shot him"), it's still getting you excited for the story to come.
Anderson, on the other hand, just ends on that final, solemn chime and then silence. It's a death knell. Because the story is over. Alexander Anderson is done.
The second is the way people are singing about them. In Hamilton, everyone has a measure of respect to their voice when they recount Hamilton's life. From his rival Aaron Burr to his friend John Laurens, to his enemies James Madison and Thomas Jefferson. They respect Hamilton's drive, his motivation, his accomplishments.
Anderson? That respect isn't really there. Even Alucard just seems to feel sorry for him at best, openly mocking his faith and his sacrifice at the end and how it accomplished nothing. Pip and Seras are smug in their dismissal of him, Maxwell is *annoyed* that he's been murdered, The General finds the suffering and destruction both experienced and caused by Anderson to be *amusing.* The only ones who really speak of Anderson with any warmth or kindness are his Iscariots. For all his fighting, all his suffering, all his struggles and triumphs in the name of his God, Alexander Anderson has *nothing* to show for it. The show even scrunched up his climactic battle with Alucard, for which he was willing to throw away his own humanity, as nothing more than a protracted annoyance for the King of Memes. He's a very tragic character.
