There's no way leaning forward is an exploit. On a controller leaning is pressure sensitive, so you can hold the stick in just the right spot for best aerodynamics.
I'd say it's an exploit because I've done this on the console version and then compared it to just holding the stick in position, the level of speed you gain is insane.
My guess is that there's two inputs that got mixed: A lean forward to reduce air resistance, and a "push front of bike downwards" lean. Somewhy they ended up mapping them both to the same input, with the lean-to-be-faster leading to lean-to-push
@@daniellee4003 it's not really increasing the speed every time you tap forwards (at least not exponentially), iirc if you hold the left stick in a way that makes cj duck forward like that you just get a consistent speed boost the whole time, it's just that on pc we don't really get to press a button halfways, so you have to spam the key to use that mechanic, otherwise it works as intended

Leaning forward on a real bike makes you go faster, but at the same time the games is kind of this and that with what real world physics and what video game physics it uses, like hitting someone off a bike and the bike not falling, or the fact that CJ has the skills of a high level stunt rider even when his skill is at nothing
Because it's a lot harder to do all the jumps with police bike. Also you need to micromanage the frame limiter for certain jumps. Crucial1357 has done it, but he's also an incredible driver.
Problem is it's necessary for the sake of rerolling traffic spawns. It will always look awful but it's a necessary trick, especially when going into areas where you'll have 4 stars and you're speedrunning.

IMO just holding forwards is the intended leaning behaviour, it repeatedly increasing speed when you repeatedly tap forwards is a bug
