Let us not forget Malcolm Young, R.I.P. He is AC/DC. Best rhythm guitar player.
love AC/DC ... but AC/DC with bon was a completely different animal
Been to his burial plot many times in Fremantle cemetery, I was there when they erected a statue of him. He passed on the day I was born 100yrs after Next Kelly was hanged. Staying out of prison is difficult for me, but Such is Life.
Yeah... love Brian but u definitely got something different with BON S. 🎸🥁🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🏽
Hell Yeah!!!!! Rock n Roll!!!! AC / DC!!!! Raiders,!!! Rock n Roll!!!!!!! Cali4nia!!!!!!!!!
For me, he was the most unique voice rock n roll ever had.
@@MrSplat1972 Raiders!! Rock n Roll!!!!!!!!!!
Bon actually broke his ankle when he jumped off the pulpit.
I wondered about that, when he disappeared from camera-shot for the landing and it suddenly skipped to him back in the pulpit wearing all the regalia!
I remember that!! I was like: DANG!!!
I bet he didn't feel a thing lol
Karma
Broke his ankle, but still finished the video.
No disrespect to Brian, he probably came closer than anyone else could have done to try to fill Bon Scott's shoes. But Bon was hands down the best vocalist the band could ever have had, and the best front man in the business! Whole Lotta Rosie and Walk All Over You are epic tracks.
@THEZOOROCKSCOM He does indeed sound a lot like Bon...I like Krokus" he's a good singer..
but'' Bon was the ultimate front man, entertainer, and performer. If you didn't see hi live..you
really missed a bloody excellent show..they never"" disappoint!! RIP" ..Bon..X
I feel blessed to have both of them. All good. Gone Shootin'...
I agree!
You have so many hits to enjoy there's very few misses
THe Bon Scott era is just SO much more fun. His lyrics are always hysterical and loaded with double entendres. keep 'em coming, guy! :-) T
There is stuff on RUclips where Bon Scott is singing bubblegum with the Valentines looking like the proverbial third wheel .You could see him thinking "It’s a long way to the top if you want to Rock ‘n Roll”
It’s such a crackup 😆 seeing Bon in the Valentines
I still have most of the AC/DC on cassettes in storage. Definitely one of the all time greats.
Angus actually blew up his amp during the recording of this song. You can actually hear his amp overheating and the distortion becoming more strained.
I don't think there are too many Australians who don't know of these legends. A live performance was an experience like no other I can assure you 🤩
Props to drummer Phil Rudd...the most underrated drummer in rock! He's a human metronome. Though this may sound like a simple beat but it's one of the hardest to play live. When then play it live it last over 10 minutes with that drum beat the whole way through...no ear plugs, no click track...just impeccable timing with swing.
Underrated by who?
@@seanlowe4785 everybody shit talks Phil and Cliff on how they are limited in skill Compared to other musicians in the genre
Agree. There is a full analysis video of Phil's drumming by Andi Rohde thats almost an hour long. He has a technique that no one can really replicate perfectly that goes for all of his songs as a drummer with AC/DC
Angus Young's biggest influence was Chuck Berry,Any time Angus skips across the stage, that's his tribute to Chuck Berry's "duck walk" Angus also credits his sister for encouraging him to don the schoolboy blazer, coat, cap, and tie when he hit the stage:
It's always amazed me that Chuck Berry is Angus' idol. I mean, sure, there's a LOT of Berry-style licks in Angus' playing, but they're delivered
so completely unlike anything Chuck ever played. Far more heavy and brutal. Like, where did the heaviness come from?
The name AC/DC came from their sister's sewing machine, it used batteries or plug in power. She also made his school uniforms for ths stage after his real one was no good anymore. He only started gigging in it after school, at age 16. His big bro, said he was gonna be good, when the band was looking for another guitarist, so he started young.
When I was a kid, I didn't appreciate Bon's mischievous smile. Big, big loss when he died so young.
the duck walk he got from Chuck Berry one of his greatest idols. when bon jumped over the whole band he actually broke his leg. cheers from Australia 😎
AC/DC - Let There Be Rock live at The Apollo Theater Glasgow in 1978 incredible performance..........
Angus at 23 years old was a fn animal. He knocked his own tooth out during a performance.
twice as good as this version
Завидую всеми цветами зависти которые есть на свете)))) ❤
Bon actually broke his ankle leaping over the pulpit!!
and Angus knocked his tooth out
Anything from the live album. If you want blood, you got it!!
Bon Scott's best vocal performance is highway to hell. If you haven't reacted to highway to hell song, highway to hell should be your next AC/DC song.
I still refer to Brian Johnson as "the new guy" 44 years later.
Bon Scott will always be my personal favorite front man of AC/DC.
So many great songs.
Down Payment Blues
Riff Raff
Hell Ain't a Bad Place To Be
The Jack
Dirty Deeds
Overdose
Dog Eat Dog
Jailbreak
Nightprowler
Walk All Over You.
More Bon Scott please.
Yes, agreed. Brian’s vocal tone quality suits the AC/DC sound pretty well, but you can see the effort he is having to make which may be why the pace of their late material is slower, to allow him to get the sound out there. His voice works best behind a barrage of bass & lead guitar. Bon’s vocals are more effortless, it seems to flow more naturally, he has the wider vocal range and is note-perfect at any pace. His vocals can stand alone and often alternate with Angus’s riffs & solos. Also important is stage presence, Bon Scott had it in spades, he looked the part & had all the moves and the intensity. If I hadn’t grown up in his era I might be less spoiled, but the flat cap pulled down low over the eyes and the drunken staggering never quite measured up for me.
Touch too much?, Live wire?
Who would have thought something I listened to as teenager that almost 50 years later is still being played
And that we're still here to hear & see it hey!😯 😁🤘✌️
The one legged hop, is actually Chuck Berry's "Duck walk", Angus is doing his homage to a hero. AND ACDC had 3 singers. Brian Johnson 1980-present, Bon Scott from 1974- 1980, and DAVE EVANS in 1973.
My first ever gig was AC/DC with Bon in 1978. Bon had charisma in spades, so much so that although the stuff with Brian is often epic, I find the tunes with Bon more entertaining and interesting. RIP.
I love the closeups of Bon with his devilish Smirks. What a character!
Bon Scott years are my favorite ❤
AC/DC proves that music doesn't have to be difficult or sophisticated to be fun and enjoyable. One of the best rock bands ever!
They simply never disappoint. A band that knew what it's strengths were and pushed those buttons perfectly every time. And a secret weapon during the Bon years. A tongue in cheek sense of humor.
More Bon Scott! "Whole Lotta Rosie," "Riff Raff," "Down Payment Blues," "Sin City," "High Voltage," "Dog Eat Dog," "Kicked in the Teeth," "Touch Too Much," "Ain't No Fun Waiting Round to be a Millionaire." The list goes on and on.
*Jailbreak*
Bon Scott always had the cheekiest of smiles.
Also, Bon Scott proselytising RnR. Pure bliss! 🎉🎉🎉
Great guys now check out them doing this live at The Apollo Theater Glasgow in 1978 incredible performance and dont make the same mistake a couple of other reviewers made cutting it off when Angus climbs up on the speakers for his solo and afterwards his unbelievable finishing act holy crap. A must see!!!
Angus my fav guitarist. That solo at the end is insane
He brought it to the max... 🥁🎸🔥🤘🏽
A live version of this and a song called Riff Raff at the Apollo theater In 1978 is a must..... both will blow your mind ...lol
Check out "Touch to Much", one of their best with Bon
Great tune
RIP Bon Scott .... he was amazing on and off the stage.
RIFF RAFF live at the Apollo. Greatest performance by Angus. Such a Showman on the guitar!!!!
Seconded.
@kengunter6093 if you haven’t seen it check out Tommy and Phil Emmanuel’s guitar medley from their Paris show in 2001, Riff Raff appears in that not everyone picks up on it. Two of the best guitarists Australia has ever known. It’s also incredibly entertaining the tricks they do!! ❤
I concur
@Dr_KAP If it doesn't have BS on vocals I'm not interested. Nothing against BJ but the songs just not the same.BS was a lyrical genius with his play on words!!
@@kengunter6903 oh lol I’m guessing you don’t know who Tommy Emmanuel is. They don’t sing. Tommy Emmanuel is known as one of the best guitarists in history. It’s a guitar medley. If you’re not interested that’s fine lol. Someone else might see this and be interested.
Long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll... Early ACDC on the back of a truck driving through the Melbourne CBD featuring bon Scott on the bag pipes.
I remember it well . On the truck going down Swanston street passed the Melbourne town hall, along with many other places.
* February 23, 1976, and Melbourne is witness to the birth of a legend. A little upcoming band from Sydney was in town to film a promo video for a TV show called Countdown.
Saw them so many times in Melbourne Australia as teenager in the mid 70’s with the one and only Bon Scott. They were amazing even then, and blew out teenage brains and ears. He had so much charisma and stage presence, and will always be their frontman to me. I have never wanted to see them without him. We saw the best!!
Я прожил пол жизни в ссср и ничего не видел. С трудом могли услышать то что вы слушали и видели. Бон это асдс ...умер Бон и для меня умерла асдс.
One of their best albums. This and Powerage IMO. Not a bad song on either.
Yi from Perth Western Australia you guys have watched the best video if this song...sung and written by Bon Scott RIP
The AC/DC song that you two should definitely react to is "Big Balls"!!
Bon broke his ankle jumping off the cabinet while filming this clip. That’s why the last solo is footage off them in the studio. Filmed at a church in Surrey hills Sydney.
70s AC/DC was what MADE me get a guitar.
While Bon broke his ankle when he jumped off the pulpit the band continues as the stage hands helped him off the stage!
I saw Brian but I wished I saw Bon the Scotsman In Australia
Listen to the live version of this with Bon ..unbelievable!!!!!
RIP, Bon & Malcolm!! YOU are MISSED!
This is such a jam! Bon was also and awesome, charismatic and animated front man! It would've been interesting to see what the band would've been like if he'd stayed alive.
The first singer was Dave Evans there is a video with him singing the song "Can I sit next you girl" very rare video
I remember watching that on Countdown 😊
Bon Scott
A Frontman’s Frontman
What an Absolutely Amazing Rock & Roll Character.
What a Song 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Rock & Roll Preacher taking us to Rock & Roll Church
Alter Boy Angel Angus
This live with Bon is fire . Live at The Apollo.
I got to see them in 1980 before bon Scott passed away. Was one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen!
The first AC/DC song l ever heard, mid to late 70s, still ❤ it.
This is my favorite AC/DC album, hands down. Great from front to back.
There was actually another singer before Bon named Dave Evans, but he is pretty much forgotten.
I like Brian and Back in Black is certainly one of the great rock albums, but Bon Scott is my favorite vocalist and Bon era Acca Dacca my favorite era. There's no one like Bon.
The live version of this is amazing. Let there be Rock live at the Apollo theater
Best rhythm section ever. Even as a young fella Phill's drums were perfection.
Great song, could you imagine if history class in school was ever this cool.
Hi Guys, This was released in 1977,Angus Young was only 22 years old in this video, The band are currently on their Power Up Tour of Europe at the moment, Current lead singer Brian Johnson is now 76 years old, Lead guitarist Angus Young is now 69 and still duck walking 😄😄🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸
My favorite AC/DC Bon Scott era song!
AC/DC actually had THREE lead singers - Dave Evans (left in November 1974, after the first single - "Can I Sit Next To You, Girl?".) then Ronald 'Bon' Scott (1974 - 80) then Brian Johnson (1980 - ) and, in 2016, Axl Rose (of 'Guns 'N Roses) was brought in as a temporary singer to complete that year's tour dates.
Also, on their first television appearance (I think it was Countdown, in Australia) Bon Scott sported a blue gingham dress!! This was before they settled on their 'usual' outfits!
Nobody enjoyed being a front man more the Bon Scott. Never took it too seriously.
Never stopped smiling.
Died 1980. He was seriously missed. ☝️😎
Brian Johnson had big shoes to fill
Bon had a charisma that was undeniable and irreplaceable. I'm lucky to have seen him in person with the band. Hard to see him and remember that he's gone, yet somehow I'm still here. Good reaction guys, well done and very thoughtful.
Perfect example of how the rythmn guitar can set up great lead players
I love Bon Scott! His facial expressions are great!
Seem them multiple times live. This is my fav track they do at shows. The solo goes offffff. Thanks for reacting to one of my most loved songs of all time.
Loved this. Lots of very smart rockers in the comments. I know this because they have already said what I wanted to, broken ankle etc. I would love to see you pair of fine specimens do an AC/DC Bluesy double header from the Album "Dirty deeds done dirt cheap" with "Ride on" and "Ain't no fun waiting round to be a millionaire". Ya could rap it up with Squealer, just putting it out there. Lads hit some likes to tell them to do this. We know they would love it!
I love the Bon era of AC/DC
Sin City live in Paris '79 !!!
"Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" ✊ 🎧
Visceral rock. You can't help but move!
🥁🎸🔥🤘🏽
I went to this Tour of Let there Be Rock in Johnson City Tenn! In 1978 or 79.
Bon Scott was There (Orginal) ge carried Angus around the Concert Hall including the 2nd Level, Angus was on Bon's Shoulders! I was 1 ft or 2 from them as they Passed us
Industrial strength rock'n'roll.
You need to check out Whole Lotta Rosie, Riff Raff, Problem Child, or Ride on.
Yep true story, Bon broke his ankle doing that jump.
One of theire best Songs...saw them in River plate...Love AcDc...❤😊
Let there be Phil.
Let there be Sam.
Let there be Angus.
LET THERE BE ROCK!!!!!!
I read somewhere that when Angus was playing that last solo that the old amp. caught on fire but they told him to keep playing.
If you really want to feel ACDC, you have to check out Ride On-and Down Payment Blues. Both Bonn Scott era songs. Both AWESOME Angus Young Riffs. Ride on is about the slowest, most bluesy song ACDC has ever done. Down Payment Blues is just a BANGER. As soon as it starts you will know what I mean. Brian Johnson has a live version of this song. But if you do do it, Please use Bonn’s original. But any ACDC song, I’m here for!!!
I love Ride on for it'd Bluesy qualities but feel Ain't no fun should be thrown in to the Bluesy list, Love that tune and lived that struggle.
@@KarlXByrne Absolutely 100% agree!!
@@chrisstone5868 Diamond Geezer!
The 15 million fingers is a reference to the Australian population in the 1970s. Australian Hard Rock there is no substitute mate
I loved being a teenager in the 70s
Let there by light. Is from genies. First line of the old testament.
You need to watch the river platte live version angus solo is nineteen minutes
Now watch the live version from River Plate where Angus goes off for a very long solo.
Like Australian rock. Try Radio Birdman... Aloha Steve and Danno based on the Hawaii 5-0 theme. Or Decent into the maelstrom. You won't be disappointed. Cheers.
These two people need to go through the Bon Scott vids and listen. The lady said she didn't know they had 2 lead singers. Do your homework before watching a bad video where Bon breaks his ankle. They didn't even say anything about his jump. Too young. You have to be over 40. Guitar heroes. Your kidding. Put the right video on first. Jesus
THIS was the moment when rock reached its ultimate form. Before this song, AC/DC underwent numerous changes, with Angus describing it as a journey to capture the true essence of what it FEELS like when a song really rocks (one of the reasons he is so physical in his play, is that he lets his emotions guide him). When they wrote and played this track, they knew they had found it. The lyrics that were then written to the music say it all: 'Let There Be Rock.'
Some people criticize AC/DC for sounding the same after five decades, but they’ve perfected a sound that resonates with one of the most primal human emotions. Why deviate from the quintessence of rock?
My cousin introduced me to this around 76/77 when imports started to get to England from Australia and I've loved them ever since, used to have this video on VHS back in the day, My favourite track is Gone Shooting off Powerage and personally I'd always go Bon Scott but don't get me wrong I think Brian did an amazing job. Great reaction
Bob Scott had a big impact in classics and the influence of and play wind instruments bagpipes and guitar and wrote the music
I was lucky enough to have grown up in seventies Australia. Saw them play a number of times. I am sorry to say. For me, the band AC/DC we're ended when Bonn passed away.
Can you guys check out MONEY by Lyle Lovett? I can't find any reactions to it, and I'm curious if it's possible or not.
The winning AC/DC formula? Three chords, balls and FUN!
🎶 Go Down 🎶AC/DC 1977 album Let There Be Rock !
One of my fav ACDC albums and songs!! Video sucks until the end in the studio.
Bon & the boys doing "Jailbreak " is another great early hit song & video is pretty cool too
Great video, but live at The Apollo is even better......Angus refused to stop playing. lol
This is the original lead singer. He died and was replaced by hat guy ..
You must do the original "Riff Raff"
Loved this the first time I heard it way back in the seventies.
You've witnessed creation. :))
The world lost a lot when we lost Bon.
I remember carving his epitaph into my desk at school.
I wasn't the only one.
They really are the Gods of Rock!
Angus is still one of the best guitar players of all time.
Bon got in bar fights ..had tooth knocked out
