It won’t be enforced.
Exactly! This is just another threat 'under law' they think being tough somehow makes them look redeeming lol
PUBLIC spaces are not, and should never have been allowed, for personal residence. FORCE is needed. This whole thing is years over due.
Sweeping your problems under the carpet only gives you a dirty carpet... nothing more.
You support telling the homeless; "You can't have a space to live if you can't find a shelter with space"? That's just evil dude.
@@TheFounderSCPFJust can it bud! First of all most homeless came here to be homelessness, they need to be shipped back out don't pass go don't collect 200 dollars on the bus you go. One doesn't need to set a tent and a bunch of garbage ,stolen bikes and shopping carts up to be homeless. One can roll out a bed roll discreetly sleep wake up pack up and move along during the day. Plus there needs to be zero tolerance for the druggie bum lifestyle .
@@TheFounderSCPF 80% won’t go into a shelter. By their own choice. I know,, I’ve been having one on one conversations with them for 20 years bro. I’ve worked and lived in downtown Portland since forever. Nothing you can say to sway me when their own mouths tell my own ears. This isn’t my opinion. This is their words. Despite what you think of me I’m actually very friendly with the homeless. I even have some that I consider to be friends. Non the less,, your tax money and my tax money should not be being spent on public places that are now these people’s private residences. That’s called stealing.
@@TheFounderSCPF Its not evil to want a clean and safe neighborhood. Im SICK of homeless coming to my neighborhood bringing drugs/needles and living in absolute FILTH. It is not hard to clean up after yourself, and I am sick of cleaning the park/streets up after these degenerates. They might not choose to be homeless but they are choosing to live in filth and I have absolutely NO sympathy for people who choose to live in filth.
“Excuse me sir, yeah the one pooping on the sidewalk with a needle hanging out of your arm. Yeah, you can’t set your tent up here. Sorry!” 😂😂😂😂
Yeah, especially when sidewalk-pooping junkies set up their tent near the entrance of a school.
@@Scorch1028 you should be quiet and working. Don’t you have to pay more taxes to Epstein Island enjoyers my fellow cuckolded tax-payer?
Now what? Why now? You’re just pushing them out to the nearest Neighbors, the killer’s still kill and you still are not a great whatever you call yourself!
“ I don’t know where to go “.
How about to work.
no way would their democrat and leftists enablers permit such cruelty...
That’s not your choice.
God forbid these people actually work for a living, like _normal people_ .
@@Scorch1028 nothing normal about enslaving yourself to live. To just pay taxes to the machine.
Why don’t you aid their cause… trust me… most of them do drugs from how hard it is, not the other way around.
They’re trying to save you.
According to them, anyway.
@@Scorch1028 what’s normal about being a wage slave to an entity that bombs and kills others.
failing country
Too late for most 🤓 🖕
I highly doubt this will do anything...
the homeless will definitely camp wherever they need to, no matter what crap they go through... and those that get properly agitated will resort to violence...
Who should do something? Camp social workers?
@user-ts7ns7bt2v we should send more billions to ukraine 🇺🇦
Wow it's trust fund Teddy?
Don’t hate cause your family is broke 😂😂😂😂
@@Hello-nq1gnI bet I have more Ðoge than your broke ass
Why is it, when it comes to the "homeless" it's only about mental health or fentanyl? What about those who work, but can't afford an apartment? Did everyone forget what Covid did to the job industry? Homeless shelters are full of people who have mental health issues because of the meth and fentanyl. AND these people, get released from prison, sent out from California or Washington, and they get sent here. And those who are down on their luck, are now, forced to live in housing full of fresh criminals and drug users.
It will be interesting to see, what those "FEMA Camps" are going to be used for in the middle of the dessert, after the SCOTUS rules on this, "Criminalizing homeless."
Progressive policies are detrimental to health
Tell that to Canadians numb nuts...
and exactly why red states 'must' outlaw the democrat party -- it is a 'public health hazard'...
What would put an end to a lot of this.. is to get the cost of rent down.. the rental industry has lost their mind.. and is completely out of touch with the American population.. an economic conditions were all living under..
The shear cost of our bloated government and it's wreckless borrowing and spending has destroyed the cost of living. Inflation, taxation, government incompetence, and fiscal malfeasance is the root of the problem.
Yeah, Corporate Welfare is good. But, Social Welfare is somehow evil... 🖕🏻🖕🏼🖕🖕🏽🖕🏾🖕🏿
Portland is extremely expensive but has few jobs and losers running it
@@jamesklaatu9359 the Democrats and Republicans have been robbing Us blind for 200 years.. I can't believe people are still voting for these guys.. they showed years and years ago what they were about..
Most of the bums couldn't put the pipe down long enough to pay rent let alone maintain a residence. There are places in the country with less expensive rent . Maybe go there instead of pitch a tent on a sidewalk here?
There is a reason they call it RIP City.
WOW A 100 dollar fine And/Or 30 Days in jail...... THAT WILL TEACH Them😂😂😂😂 100 dollars that they DON'T Have, and 30 Days of FREE Housing 😂😂🤣
Too little too late
Vancouvers safe stays have virtually eliminated camps entirely with no real spike in jail usage.
Not hard. Build places for them and make them feel welcome. Goodness.
This is where break ins will begin. Scarier times follow.
What a joke, trap houses with jail cells is not housing. This isn’t going anywhere and was already voted unconstitutional in this state. Handing out a bag of nuts and giving them a encyclopedia of paperwork does nothing for homelessness.
Enabling just attracts more of it.
@@jamesklaatu9359 i agree, but something like 30 some billion into this and almost none of it went into fixing it? 500 million just to set up enough drug treatment centers for 40k beds and only 4.8 million went into 3k beds that won’t be built for ten years? It’s projected by the end of this year a near 150k will be homeless. We don’t even have close to that between jail cells and prison cells and since 2015 we still don’t have more than 3000 beds for the homeless. But yet any felon or illegal gets free housing as long as they commit a horrible crime and been convicted?
They aren't homeless camps, they are never ending parties. It's an insult to real homeless people to use the same phrase. Now that it's an illegal activity the police have the right for search and seizure, throw their asses in jail for possession of drugs and weapons.
Wheeler will be out there sleeping in a tent in support of them tomorrow.
Most homeless do not want to go to shelters because they do not want to obey rules. They are not allowed to drink and do drugs so they would rather be on the streets.
Do you want to live in a smelter?
bingo
So you love your American freedoms, just not the freedoms of your fellow Americans.
Most shelters require bible worship. Freedom isn't free...
Facts. Although many women are afraid
Of SA . That's a reasonable fear
Well, that oughtta fix everything. Homelessness solved everyone!
Put them jail
THEY ARE IN JAIL....USA IS JUST A GIANT PRISON, THE WALL WAS BUILT TO KEEP YOU IN, AS YOU CAN SEE, MIGRANTS EASILY JUST WALK IN... WAKE DA FUG UP
You first 🤓 🖕
Progressive government policies attracted, and enabled the problem. It's human nature.
100 billion in aid for other country's wars. 100 billion dollars could build housing.
Why is it that if you walk all around Downton Shanghai you will not see one homeless person. You can also walk around at night and feel safe to walk anywhere. 😒
Because the Chinese don’t allow this to happen. You won’t see it in Dubai either….
If you got no where to go you could consider getting a job and working to pay for a place to live (like the rest of us have to do).
HMM... WHAT WOULD you DO IN MANILA , PHILIPPINES.... PEOPLE ARE HOMELESS BECAUSE NO ONE WILL HIRE THEM FOR WORK.
Good luck making anything any different. You have to now do something. Tough love is what needs to happen. You are found camping were you should not, you get a shelter bed or you can only camp at places the city sets up or you go to jail.
Sad
Yes, yes you are
Ship them to jail
A little too little too late Mr. Wheeler. Just to reiterate you are absolutely the worse mayor Portland has ever had. Thank goodness I no longer live in Portland and good riddance your tenure is coming to an end.
Besides being a horrible person, Ted's fashion is tragic.
Out of all the other problems, this is what you're worried about? How he dresses? Geez.......

Homelessness is a business my friends it's never going to go away so stop f****** complaining about it
Vote left, get left
Move to Vancouver
Even better if it is the one in British Columbia.
Arrestthem
nothing you do will work haha....
Speak for yourself 🤓 🖕
Sorry guys your existence is illegal. WTF.
🤗
No it's the behavior. One can be homeless without being a nuisance.
Jail or the LORD!!
The issue is they don’t want to jail them because then they have to house and feed them and give them free healthcare.
Do you see the issue yet or are you like all these other idiots that just keep repeating “why don’t they get a job.”
The issue is they’re not giving them a space to live, if you don’t have a secure square of land everything else gets thrown out the window. They’ve trampled on the 14th amendment for too long. The homeless are right… everyone deserves life, liberty, AND PROPERTY.
WE HAVE THE 14TH AMENDMENT FOR A REASON FOLKS.
