Hi, I have been a Metallica fan for 40 years. Got the L.P's, T-shirts, tatoo's and seen them in concerts. My kids have all heard me blasting Metallica out for years. All of them play fortnite and got me into it back in 2020. This is AWESOME! I just hope my wife does not see how many V-bucks i have spent on them. Long live the 'tallica boys!! Hell Yeah. I'm with you on the ride for this update!!

@@splat-boy5414the first album is very raw feeling, and some says that the first album has more "teenage angst" power in it.
The second album is a massive step up from the first album overall. Tremendously better leads from the previous one, more tight, and also they wrote a ballad for the first time in this album called Fade to Black (which is so magnificient and beautiful)
The third album is the most balanced one compared to the previous one, if you think the previous album is not fast enough, this'll do it for ya.
Now the fourth album, if you said to yourself "man Metallica isn't fast or heavy enough!" Well guess what? This is their most heavy, fastest, and their most brutal album in their whole entire discography, though the mixing is not the bass, like inaudible bass, very dry drums and guitar tone, its still so damn good.
Fortnite updated the game so that you can use Jam Tracks as lobby tracks meaning you can use songs from Metallica as the background song for your lobby.
I keep The Unforgiven as my Lobby Track now and use it to get me into the right head space for ZB/BR.
The "Ride the Lightning" contrail is by far the coolest way to dive into a game ever 🤘🤘

Fun little fact metallica has always been in fortnite since the start(not really) but in stw there's is a character named Lars and you know who that's based on with a storm mission called ride the lighting

A REAL metal head does not gatekeep music. a REAL metal head encourages your enjoyment of metal/rock/poprock. All I gotta say if give absolute positive feedback they added Metallica into. Fortnite and festival so they know what the fans want and will buy.

I was basically introduced to metallica through fortnite. I have known of them my whole life and heard a few songs here and there, but playing through all of the songs on festival and learning more about their story as a band through playing has actually been really awesome. I have gained a lot of appreciation and respect for them! With that said, I think there is a lot of people who are upset at collaborations like this because they wanna gatekeep their favorite bands or whatever and its really sad. I really loved your positive attitude about this topic and you are so well spoken. keep it up!! :)

@@Septemberthedog I see what you're saying but I think it should be on a case by case basis. In this situation, something agreed upon the band to keep the memory of Cliff alive. The tribute graffiti was nice but not enough imo also no Jason Newsted.

I’m in my 30s and I have never really been much of a heavy metal fan (more rap hip hop) but since Fortnite has released Metallica I’ve been enjoying the music. I found myself listening to them on Spotify the other day🤘🏻🤘🏻⚡️⚡️💙

it's not that long if you don't try to do everything in the first days. You just need to play a little every day for the daily quests and wait for the weekly quests.
I completed the previous passes in about 10 hours.
This is probably one of the best updates for Festival

You are so right about passing the torch. My son is 12 and he's always liked Metallica, but this just adds a whole new dimension to the band and their music for him and all his friends who play together. We're both having a blast grinding this Festival Pass and enjoying the BR additions, even though it's hella difficult (for me at least) to hit another player with the guitar, haha. Would love to see more Fortnite content!

That is by no means 2024 Kirk Hammet. I think the Kirk skin is easily the best one but it is not 60 year old Kirk skin. This is about 40 year old Kirk represented in game and I am glad they didn't do a white haired Kirk. This version looks like the Chris Cornell we will never get.

ayy im happy your happy. I didnt particularly care for this cuz I dont listen to rock but im glad theres people who genuinely love this. I feel the same way you feel whenever we get something marvel or dc in the item shop / battlepass knowing theres probably others who dont care in the slightest.
Also, in the Rocket Racing gamemode there are quests to get Metallica themed car decorations too
Your hair is amazing, I think I like that people can have these amazing reactions to favorite artists or bands coming to the band. Thats what Epic does better then Activison in my opinion BECAUSE THEY LISTEN TO THERE FANS
Some good ways of getting some extra value from this is by using the Banner Icon cosmetics along with the Superhero Emoji cosmetics. It allows you to turn the emojis you get from the Festival Pass into backbling and have cosmetics with the Metallica "M" on it. I have a flag-wave emote that I'm going to put that "M" on and use with the band members.

@@caitycoreif youve already got a guitar hero controller it can work with festival too! i just got an adapter from RetroCultMods to connect my Wii guitar and there's a program called Festival Instrument Mapper to make other instruments work with fortnite

Notice: its more optimal to launch your attacks upon upon unlocking them.
Saving the boost as a counter is the best option when in 2nd or 1st place.
Also, hitting the right trigger acts as any note so long as you have the boost/attack available.
You can now use certain guitar hero peripheral devices in fortnite festival.

The battle stage right now is very frustrating for us pc players it won't let us use custom controls and defaults to super terrible shift asd and spacebar bindings. can't even get my guitar hero controller working since the update 😬
There is new riffmaster guitar released for festival (and rock band 4), but any rock band 4 guitar should work in festival
I bought every single metallica skins including the battlepass one and been having a blast playing festival battle and got numerous 1st place. Almost done with the pass, james is the last to get. Helll yeahhhhhhhh

They do have an official guitar controller but it’s third party made by the company pdp it’s called riffmaster iirc if you have a rock band 4 controller it should also work on fortnite though

Ya not sure if you into the racing mode but they have a Metallica themed track that kinda cool at one point you race down like a Giant garitar plus there the fuel song playing the whole time while your racing.

I come from the punk rock, post-hardcore scene never been a big fan of this heavy metal stuff, but i will say as sort of a first time actually sitting down and listening to these Metallica songs and not tuning it out when it plays (im young) they're honestly really fun!
I really hope later down in the line we get more Metallica songs because they are very fun to play on the hardest difficulty :D

Despite liking Metallica very much, not exactly a fan like you. But as a Fortnite player, I can say that the Festival mode was totally saved by this Metallica collab. It's not even fun anymore to play songs, other than Metallica's , it's like the mode was built to them. It feels like a super rockstar playing their songs. And their loot island is the coolest ever. Major major W collab!

While I'm not an active metal listener like my friend is, I'm really glad to see Metallica make it to Festival, since we were previously lacking in metal music entirely. Before Season 3, we only had 4 metal tracks, and one of them was an Epic Games song.
As for the gatekeeping, I think it's cringe and needs to stop entirely. I can tell people still have the "Fortnite bad" mentality ingrained into their brains and freak out when anything they like collaborates with them. I don't understand that form of logic whatsoever, and all it does is cause unnecessary negativity.
I'm happy for a vast majority of artists who make it into Festival (unless their music/behavior is absolutely terrible), and I've been begging for Harmonix to add some more underground artists to Festival. The extra publicity and ears on their music is a good thing, regardless of their popularity. If they didn't do this with Dragonforce back in the Guitar Hero days, they would be nowhere near as popular as they are now.
