This is the 5th tile project we've done where we've removed the old tile before installing new tile, and the first one with this tool ruclips.net/user/postUgkxqqoaX03nrziKwF7Bjjcc71YzLEleMvOS . I want to cry for all the unnecessary work we've done in the past. With this tool, we removed tile surrounding a fireplace, as well as the hearth tile, set in loads of cement, in less than an hour. I highly recommend this tool. It was easy to use, and very satisfying watching the tile literally fall off the wall.
Awesome! Thank you for making the video! We have four of these exact drills all with the same issue. We took them to be repaired and was told they were no good. I just went through and followed what you did and now I have four running drills. Saved me from having to buy more! Again Thank You!
Many thanks for this! I located the spade connectors on a similar type Bosch drill and tried first pulling them out and just pushing them in again. Plugged the drill into the power and it fired up perfect. I'm delighted!! Thanks again!!
Good video Stan. One thing I always do is coat the contacts with a silicone grease. Dow compound 4 or 11. 11 is thicker. Make these types of repairs last longer.
Hi Stan, I've got the much bigger brother of this hammer drill, with the SdS Max end, no problem after more than ten years, but the day it gives me problems, this video might save me time and aggravations... Thanks for sharing this... Pierre
I use that same exasperated tone when *I* say: "and with my *third* hand..." My wife looked in while I was watching the video, thinking that it was me talking! ;^) Thing is, to get my chemistry degree, I had to grow a third hand back in the day! ;^) Unfortunately, that hand is only really useful for working a wet bench in a lab... When it comes to machine design, I've never met that mythical "constant" pressure slip connector - any kind of a spring doesn't stand up well to heat and vibration... all you can do is hope that you get enough life out of the machine to not feel sad about junking it when metal fatigue and/or arcing kills your last available replacement part... All the Best, Eric
Bosch have used this same brush system for about 30 years, and it always used to be reliable, i can only assume 1 or 2 things, either the higher power motors draw too much power and burn them more (stress the metal?) , and poorer quality metal of the connectors/brush holder than used to be the case
I have the 11241evs. And no hammer. I've ordered a service kit, my question is, are you supposed to oil these things somewhere periodically, besides keeping the grease up? I bought a enrh3201, while I wait for the kit, and it says, keep oil level up. Just trying to figure it out. Good video on the brushes, thanks
I have the same drill but my problem is that the hammer stoped working. I can still use the rotary thing but can't use the hammer. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Bill De La Vega Hey Bill, For conditions that are subject to vibration and heavy pullout load, use epoxy, Simpson set 22 is a good compound for retaining standard all thread, I know you are local to me, shoot me an e-mail if you need my epoxy gun for a few days.
bcbloc02 I dont think you could get down inside to make the solder joint work, the contacts are below the brush holders in the main body of the drill. I might be wrong, but I have never dug any deeper into this tool.
Nice video. I have a Bosch 11202. It stopped working .I plugged the unit in, took off the 2 side covers for the brush assy. If I attache my meter probes with aligator clips and pull the trigger the drill humms like it wants to start, Do you have any ideas of what the problem can be? On the bottom of the drill it has a fan attached with a nut so I think it is different than the model in the video.Do you have any advice? Thanks Lowell
Hey, Shadon. I got the same Drill and the chuck seems to have lost its ability to hold the bit,,,, I push it in and it feels connected but, it seems the drill is spinning but not the bit. Do you have any idea what happened? Eddie G

Hi mate. Nice repair, however it should not be needed. Bosch, used to be a good brand, but now, like so many other brands from Germany they make a poor product, and are only trading on the good name they used to have. Marcel.

Hi Stan! In my experience the vacuum connectors work much better.😂 Totally agree with your assessment.

Oh great video I have a hammer drill and it gets crazy hot after use any ideas thoughts answers would be great
Cooling fan blocked or broken, bad motor bearings, grease or oil level in the gear box.

Hi Stan
all the profesionals in europe are using Hilti for many reasons.

I bet there's a bunch of those units left for dead when the fix is pretty easy.
Nice documentation of the repair Stan.

Nice fix Stan. I saw the bottle brushes in your case that is a good idea. Any tips on installing anchors into the floor for equipment mounting?

Thanks for excellent Tip
Probably applies to other tools with similar brush holder/connections.
Would it hurt anything to solder those connections besides making brush replacement harder?

+rocsvt1 Most rotary hammers have to warm up a little before they operate properly, the oil in the head is thick and needs to be warmed slightly.
rocsvt1 I also have same problem... Reason for that?? Any answer???
worn seals need's a service and new grease.
rocsvt1 junck bye millwalki and have no problems
i have a bosh 11241EVS it take a lilttle bit to slip into hammer .it will rotate but no Hammer or demo what could be the problem
Hi wilbur. I have the same bosh 11241 EVS AND I have the same problem as yours. Did you ever get it fixed?
No never got around to it
I have the same tool with the same problem. Very expensive tool for 750 watt

Good to know if/when my Bosch rotary hammer quits,
P,S, Thanks for the earlier tip on keeping some grease in case.
I need to know how to remove the chuck, this video did not help.
push down on chuck, 1/4 turn counterclockwise.
stuck broken bit shank in tip
